  1. As an Oilers fan a lot (not all) of the criticism toward Darnell Nurse's on ice play has been justified (in my opinion), his play on the ice just hasn't been good enough. Despite this everyone in the locker room sees this guy as a leader which does help the team a lot off the ice, however if we want to win the cup this year he needs to step up the way he did in game 4. At the same time most of the Edmonton media (people like Mark Spector) have really stupid press conferences and need to be let go. This story is not black and white and there is a lot going on in this situation

  2. nurse is part of the leadership group of the oilers and his hronek like presser is a sign of the calibre of leadership this team has. look no further than connor mc muffin, the captain and highstick specialist of this group.

  3. I've heard many Oiler fans supporting Bieksa on this, rightfully so too, he is not wrong about some of these media clowns, they are not good at their job.

  4. My favorite story about Jason Gregor – he went on a rant about 8, 9 years ago (can't recall how long exactly but it was way back) about McDonalds. He said he would never put that 'crap' in his body and it was the worst food you could eat (any fast food I believe he said but he really dumped on McD's and big macs IIRC). Anyway, fast forward to about 2 or 3 years ago, and who's sponsoring his show – yep McDonalds. All of a sudden, Gregor 'loves it' and 'can't get enough' of it lmao. Nice one Gregs, you think some of us don't remember your rant do you? He's a hypocrite. If he feels that strongly about McD's, he should never of accepted their money to sponser his show.

  5. The rest of Canada trying to make something out of nothing .The Edmonton team and the Edmonton area know the players……no other.

  6. I feel both sides. I personally don't mind Gregor. he's a hell of a lot more tolerable than Specter. But I really like watching Bieksa and hearing his point of view. I think he's great on the panel. But to call all of Edmonton media raw dead and dumb is a bit unfair to the good ones.

  7. Any actual Edmonton fan, who actually follows the team, a genuine fan, knows that Bieksa is dead-on accurate. In particular, the Edmonton Oilers media, is one of the absolute worst in the entire NHL. They have the worst of bottom the feeding slugs I've had to endure in my years of watching hockey.

Louie DeBrusk, Jack Michaels, Gene Principe, they're all fine. The broadcasters. Everyone who knows the team, knows the usual suspects of bottom feeders in the local media, the guys who ask the post-game questions, and inter-game questions.

Props to Bieksa for speaking candidly as he did. Hrudey's reaction looks 100% authentic, so, I'm sure it caught them all off guard. I like Hrudey well enough, and Luke Gazdic, and Bieksa has easily been my favourite since joining their broadcasts.

    Rock on, Kevin. 🍻

  8. A lot of the online media also appear to be functionally illiterate and absolutely WHINE about it when I call them out… constant typos, statistical errors, logical fallacies… just brutal.

  9. I’ve always hated listening to after games interviews, they’re horrendous. Never thought I’d say this but Go Kevin👍🏽

  10. Only have one question for the edmonton media why do you feel asking these question to bring a guy down is helpful to the hole team during a Stanley Cup run . Youve done it to countless, players in Edmonton and some of them have left because of the ,media's stupid questions. Your a reporter because you weren't good enough to play pro hockey. Thanks Kevin for calling these reporters on their domain questions.
