3 million for the guy who was so bad he could not replace Holl in the line up , The day started great with the Tanev news and the Domi news and now this is a kick in the nuts .

IF tanev signs it's just tj brodie all over again. The leafs need speed up front and that with goaltending,defence also.

at this stage of his career, tanev will still block shots like brodie but will not be as physical like brodie. so basically tanev is just another brodie lol.

It’s time they play some young guys like cowen and he is really good with confidence. Domi is good. Tanav addition is good. It’s not same team. Lot of the signing but one so far is not great but I like it. The domi contract is very decent

The Liligren contract is awful, especially for a guy that didn't even play a full season. We more then doubled his salary. Gave away a million when we are so strapped. This is looking like it's going to be a very similar team considering management lied and said big changes are coming.
If they qualified Liljegren & he went to arbitration, people familiar with RFA related arbitrations, said based on 23 pts in only 55 games it was possible he might get awarded 4M. They would be unable to walk away from such an award so the deal looks smart to me. They can deal him as a hard-to-find RD & if things don't go the way they hope, then he's a NHL level insurance policy. No issues for me, so a wise signing imo. Robertson demanding a trade is rich. No arb rights, so no leverage & as you're only 22, STFU & show people you have value as a reliable NHL pro. Covid & injury have hampered his career, but that's not the Leafs fault, so suck it up, sign your extension & get yourself to arb status.
I really think we need to also consider Jarnkrok out of the line up. If you look at his stats per ice time, then you can’t deny that if you consider taking out players like Holmberg and Kampf, you have to also lose Jarnkrok. That opens up a lot of possibilities- like paying Robertson 900K on a 2 year contract, like getting Tanev and Zodorov, thinking seriously about Talbot in goal and getting 40 games a piece between Woll and Talbot (who says we have to have 1st/2nd goalie), with Jonesy as a natural 3rd.
