well on Wednesday night on Main Events it is a crosscode heavyweight showdown between former AFL Legend Barry Hall and former NRL star Curtis Scott but before they fight they’re going to chat it through here and I’m going to start with you Curtis you started this you called him out why um spoke to him the week before the fight and he said his K and jump back in there and with a no brainer for me he’s a big name and he’s a big fish and I was definitely call him out after I got the win I know you don’t respect that particularly much though you think that he’s seen some vulnerability do you think this is a bit of a cop out oh look I think he’s seen the name um as as he said and I think he might have seen my last fight which I don’t blame him um and probably so his vulnerability in me and probably my age and thought um that’s probably not a bad name to call out um pretty safe fight so U we jumped at it does it feel safe after seeing what happened against sunny buil definitely not safe like I’m going against the odds apparently he’s an amateur Pro to J or whatever he was um it’s definitely a hard fight definitely I think I’m taking a harder fight than other fights I could have taken that’s um it’s for sure so um you know I’m looking to keep moving forward in my career and what’s better than take out Barry all he’s fought two of the best crossover athletes when I put him away can we keep moving forward and look at them bigger names again then did you know anything about him at all when his name came through as the bloke who just asked for a fight with you not not I don’t really follow sport D follow AFL to be perfectly honest and I met him I knew he was someone because he was fighting another rugby league guy at that stage didn’t really know background too much and um yeah then I got the call out my phone blew up was C Scots called you out I was like okay um I was training a little bit at that stage nothing too serious but I did speak to my trainer Fidel about maybe we should look at um I’m feeling right maybe we should look at fighting again so Stars aligned and here we are and since then you’ve obviously met him numerous times but you’ve had a bit of a buildup towards this fight and I’m sure you’ve spoken to a lot of people what have you learned about Curtis Scott uh look he’s not very well liked um a lot of people s to me that they want me to knock your head off so Jo the club mate yeah my side of the fence there’s not many two people like you either yeah well that’s yeah lucky it’s not a loing competition lucky it’s a fight we to get out there and and settle it in the ring well that’s I’m fine with that I’m absolutely fine with that that’s why I jumped at the chance when you called me out so good um yeah but don’t don’t shoot the messenger either I’m just telling you what people are and contr yourself like either you’re saying it or you’re going to say don’t I’m telling you what people are saying to me I don’t give a what I’m saying I don’t care I don’t care at all I don’t care about what other people say about me you’re getting a little bit shy about it huh getting a little bit shy about it no not really mate I’m just stating facts that I couldn’t give a what people think and then you’re going to say shoot the messenger like I couldn’t give a I got to ask the question and I answered it good good yeah you think you can intimidate me you give me these crazy eyes and trying to intimidate me man I can give a I don’t give a I don’t give a trying to stand through stare through me with them beady little eyes you got man I don’t care you don’t intimidate me whenever you want you don’t intimidate me at all not at all not one bit look like you about to cry where it go y he pa extra for this a huh you paid extra for this doing my job manate just doing my job good thing is we get to sort it out exactly that’s the can’t wait can’t wait posting little collages on your wall we do that at my gym We’ll be kicked out embarrassing what do you think a a philosopher Curtis Scott no chance it’s embarrassing is it embarrassing it is it’s embarrassing for you you’re how old you 40 47 and you’re trying to do little stickups on the wall at your gym embarrassing in no I I wouldn’t even know how to use a printer look like you’re pretty pretty hands on with it s pretty hands on with it I know you’re good mates with um Paul G I see similarities you both sus that’s that’s what I’m seeing here yeah is it a rugby league thing or it sounds like you want to do something with Paul G cuz that’s all the only person you talk about he lives in your head rent free rent free I know there’s a lot going on up there and M the only person you’ve spoken about this whole Camp is Paul Gall I’ve been asked questions kiss the BL it’s questions about Paul it’s like you want to kiss him like honestly honestly honestly I’ve been asked questions about Paul only person you’ve spoken about is Paul G this whole Camp that’s it that’s it you’re looking for a bigger payday whatever it is you’re looking for the only person You’ spoken to is Paul Gallant you’ve looked past me you’re looking at the ne the next five pass you at all you have you have cuz every every interview if I can’t beat you every interview you do it’s Paul Gallen PA I get asked a question like we’re sitting here I get asked questions and I answer them that’s that’s our job that’s what we’re doing here yeah I couldn’t give a about Paul G mate the only person he’s one has he’s retired he’s retired mate and you and the only person you want to fight is Paul Gallen well we got a score to settle that’s was a draw which wasn’t a draw M you fought two minute rounds with wasn’t even wasn’t even a eight weeks notice off the couch that’s plenty of time eight weeks eight weeks not when you haven’t trained that’s plenty of time not when you haven’t trained plenty of time eight weeks for a fight plenty of time excuses there8 weeks there’s no excuses I won the fight so I did eight weeks you did two minute rounds you got eight weeks to prepare for it and you did 2 minute rounds and you you’re you’re you’re the amateur boxer you’re the title holder the couch at 42 years of age yeah first fight yeah man you had plenty of fights as a junior you learned everything yeah you you apparently had heaps of fights State total holder whatever it was all sorts of little accolades I’ve been hearing but 8 weeks that’s plenty of time for a fight is yeah it is it is in my opinion anyway yeah you to to it what are you seeing here today Barry and are you surprised by this version of Curtis Scott oh not really it’s fight week you know we get to settle it so it’s that’s the good part about it it’s a great part about it and what are you seeing Curtis uh what do you think about this version of Barry Hall do you do you think that he truly wants to be here because you’ve questioned that oh def he’s definitely got doubt in his head definitely like you’re going to have doubt in your head that’s for sure you coming up against a guy that’s 26 years old young fit he’s hungry I’m hungrier than ever hungry I don’t have things at home I don’t have any of that I go home to nothing my whole life is boxing training and that’s it your last fight you got iced I know you got doubt in your head I know you got quit in you as well I know you got quit in you you quit huh I could quit I think you quit the last f with with um son bill I think you’re intimidated and you quit we’ll find out as we’ll find out I’m not in the stature of Sunny Bill I’m not as big as these guys but you you’ve underestimated me you’ve spoke about things down the track and I’ve taken that very disrespectfully and trust me I’ve used that as motivation this whole Camp cuz every time I look at my phone your head pops up talking about something else nothing to do with me looking at Paul Gall looking at and other things like mate cuz you’ve helped me you’ve helped me get to that next level you’ve you you’ve motivated me the days when I didn’t want to train I’m like this and then I’m out there running out there training I’m out there working it’s I want the best version of you there is the best version every time we get asked about Paul gallon obviously that’s a headline and it pops up on your phone cuz you’re a nobody man I don’t give a I’m here to fight you it’s going to hurt even more it’s going to hurt even more when I stop you by a nobody a nobody everyone that everyone hates the villain it’s going to hurt even more you’re going to be known for getting knocked out by Curtis Scott another person that’s fine I’ve I’ve done everything possible and there’s no doubt in my mind I’ve ticked all the box there doubt in your mind I’ve ticked all the Box you’re a human you got knocked out your last fight there is doubt in your mind I know there is you’re a human you got knocked out your last fight there is doubt in there okay there’s pressure on your shoulders there’s age is not on your side beauty is definitely not on your side either there there’s pressure there’s pressure on me there definitely pressure on your side pressure on me definitely at 20 years older there is pressure on you and there’s pressure on me yeah there is definitely pressure on you okay definitely there’s Dad in that head oh know I know there is there is doubt there there’s doubt up there the fact that you can’t admit there’s doubt everyone has doubt in their head but there’s definitely more doubt in your head Barry you’re starting to understand why people are saying they don’t like him perhaps you’re getting that side of with but what do you do you know I’m in your head already hell I hope we don’t have a draw mate because then you’ll be talking about nonstop as well that’s not going to happen though is there a bit of him representing Paul gallon because they moveing the same circles don’t talk about anymore really honly sperman enough he’s probably with a pcture on his wall who knows he he wines about it he wines about it they’re all winges I’m just I’m done talking about them I just want to fight now it’s going to happen it’s happening mate B of talk the last couple of days though from your management that a win here and you want to fight Sunny bill that’s just my management speaking I’m not even on social media this whole Camp I’ve been dialed in I’m not on anything so today was the first time I heard about it and then I was kind of bit taken off guard about it so um look at someone as well run it past Barry if it’s okay to call people out like having a su that I called you out so I I’m glad you did good good did you see those stories though that about the plans for sunny build down the track should he be successful I seen seen some headline but that’s fine that’s all good you understand why they’d be thinking that way oh they’ be looking for yeah R Avenues if they get past me and they’re obviously quite confident so that’s part of the game and what happens do you think for him and he’s saying he’s all in on boxing if you beat him where does he go from there I’m I’m not sure where do you go back on the shovel guess that’s it I don’t have the Silver Spoon that these guys do I don’t have the gold dunnies at home back to working hard back to where I belong and does that help you do you think in this fight and in every fight I think it works me a lot helps me Heap in my life got to work hard for everything I don’t have any little handouts I got no help UPS nothing I just get get on with it get in there work hard and that’s it Barry you’re going to be much bigger in that ring next Wednesday night is that an advantage that you can really use do you think against a guy like this who clearly as we’re seeing here today and as we saw in his last fight is going to be aggressive yeah look size is only only an advantage if he use it so we’ve been trying to work on that but it’s yeah he’s aggressive we know he’s going to come forward he’s a fighter you know he’s not going to get boxing IQ overnight it’s that takes time but we know he’s he’s going to come forward so that’s all we’ve prepared for um so yeah size is irrelevant you got to fight as well it’s going to be a fight is that why he’s trying to get in your head do you think here today to take you out of your boxing ability to getting close with you make I don’t know what each tactics are it doesn’t matter we’ve we’ve got a plan and I’m sticking to it so it’s irrelevant to me what do you think he’s going to try and do box with you or does he want to trade with you do you want him to come in is that what you’re doing here today just playing my part mate playing my part that’s what I’m doing get out there I’m going to meet him in the middle and that’s it just going to be an exciting fight he wants to knock me out I want to knock him out this it’s going to be exciting I’m sure he’s trained hard I’ve trained extremely hard so we’re going to get in there and we’re going to settle it what do you see when you think about this fight is it you stopping him is it you outboxing him what do you expect oh look we when we don’t go for stoppages they’ll come if but I’m I’m a boxer um I can pick shots I can be smart but I can fight as well so if it comes it comes not going to go in and go swinging in the first round try and get him out that’s stupid it’s a sixth round fight you will gas pretty quick so um in saying that you’ll you’ll be right there so people have to tune in find out and what about you your expectation is it a stoppage win we saw you last time out against Joey Le lure and we’ve seen you in both your fights so far end them aggressively is that what you see happening here he’s a big long ranging man so I’m going to have to be smart when I come in but yeah if it happens it happens but he’s trying to knock me out I’m trying to knock him out that’s it well there’s been a fair bit said so we might finish it a long Camp I’m sure it’s been tough and it’s been tough for me and now we’re at the the head of it all so I think we’re just boiling and can’t wait to go off yeah the heavy weights are going to go
