  1. I know he is injured, but Toronto would be smart to consider Colin Miller. He is due back shortly and does not figure in buffalo's future. He is also and unrestricted FA at the end of the year. Cheap but good. Excellent on the power play and has some nice speed.

  2. I think it was closer to $9k, not $20k, which leaves them almost the full cap usage from Muzzin being gone.

The Sandin demotion was simply on paper, he played against the Wild, and the only real hit is that Sandin's salary is impacted; though I am sure the Leafs do something to compensate.

  3. NHL needs a soft salary cap so many teams over the cap. Will be an interesting offseason. Leafs will never win a Stanley Cup until they hire a more moderate GM. Burkie was all power and Dubas is all finesse. They need the best of both worlds if they are going to win a cup. Leafs are like the Caps they will get it eventually but until that happens they aren't winning anything. They have no underdog mentality. Sens will always win more playoff games then them because they have no pressure on them.

  4. As long as they go after a big Physical Dman I will be happy. I love the early returns on Lybushkin. I know he missed a puck in his first game which lead to a goal but I have watched him move opposing players without the puck from the front of the net. None of the other Leafs D men do that, not even Jake muzzin does that anymore.

  5. Such an unfortunate injury. 3 seconds left in the 2nd period, in a 5 goal game. For one, he was in the offensive zone, trailing the play on the PK as a Dman, which rarely happens for a stay at home defenseman; plus he loses an edge at the absolute worst possible time. Just awful

  6. This could be a blessing in disguise, that's an extra $5+ million they can use to circumvent the cap in the playoffs.
I sure hope the league addresses this cap circumvention issue that TBL OBVIOUSLY abused last year, and Vegas looks to be doing this year.
Kucherov was practising in a normal jersey for months before playoffs and just happens to be ready for game 1. Either make a soft cap, with a luxury tax or fix this loophole.
