  1. I agree that savoie wasn’t our best prospect and his injury history is concerning but I’m still not convinced this was a good move for us. Time will tell and I hope I’m wrong

Sabres have no leverage. Other teams know we have a bunch of similar profile prospects with no direct path to the NHL (they’re not good enough for the top 6, but don’t play well enough defensively for the bottom 6).

No one wants to play in Buffalo. It will cost us WAAAAY more to get players than any other team in the league. That’s the reality of the situation of what Kevin Adams has to work with. You can be mad all you want but we got a decent player for a forward prospect that isn’t as good as a lot of others that we have. We pretty much have a completely new team now that I think will be more competitive than last year. I also doubt he’s done making moves.

Pronman can be a bit of a clown at times with how much he overvalues size or one elite trait in a prospect. But I think he’s fairly well plugged in around the league, remember he had the Slafkovsky pick 2 or 3 days ahead of the draft and actually nailed the top 4 order in that draft

If he says he’s down on Savoie, I’d mostly ignore it, but saying he hears he’s not super highly valued around the league holds some weight to me

Savoie had an uneven development, with only a marginal improvement in production from his draft year to his D+1 then having something of a bounce back in his D+2, getting 5 point in 6 games with Roch and tearing it up in Moose Jaw

I wouldn’t call him a bust or even on watch for it but I have more doubt about his ceiling now than I did when he was drafted. Plus he projects more likely as a winger in the NHL

We may have overpaid for McLeod , and we need to see how Savoie develops. We want KA to make deals and then blast him when he does. Also, can’t believe KA does these things in a vacuum. He has to own it whether it works out or not. Can’t help thinking that Ostlund, Kulich, drafting Helenius and Savoie’s recent injuries didn’t play into the decision somewhat.
