IT’S ABOUT DAMN TIME – the longer he goes without an extension, the more susceptible I am to negative comments and media reports!

Weird, I thought his agent was quoted as saying “Crosby told me, ‘Fuck the Penguins and fuck my legacy. Bunch of washed up has-beens dragging their sorry asses all over the ice. I’m going to Colorado to win one with Nate Dogg.'”
hammertown87
I’d imagine 3 years at a very team friendly deal just to set the standards and try and win one more cup or at least go on a run.
Miley4Lyfe
I’m in for 8.7 years at $87m.

Does he have 1 more year left on his current contract? So a 3 year would bring him to 40?
chancsc11
Give this man equity!
kickn-it-old-skool
Could it be $1.987 million 1-yr deals to finish it out??
Fastlane19
26.1 million over 3 years or 34.8 million over 4 years with the latter being my best guess
npv708
He’s going to take league minimum so we can afford a winger for him.

Will someone think of the Canadian sports media though???
JimmyPineapple_
I’m hoping it’s 4 years. That would have Sid under contract for 5 more seasons. Assuming he retires at the end of that contract, that’s 5 more seasons to get 404 points to hit the 2,000 career point mark. He would need to average about 81 points a season……that’s not completely unrealistic.

Finally all the Canadian media can shut the hell up about him leaving.

2 years, $9.935 mil per year.
$19.87 mil total.

I just met him on a flight from Pittsburgh to Dallas las week so I was getting nervous…
Southern-Advice5293
Wait, I thought he was requesting a trade to Toronto or Montreal to bring a Stanley Cup to Canada????
ZappySnap
3 x $5.87M would be my guess. He’s going to want to take a small discount due to his age and to not hamstring the cap. However, frankly, if he wants 8.7M a year, I say pay the man. Hell, if he wants $10M a year, pay the man. He’s MORE than earned it.

Wasn’t Rossi the one banging the drum all season about how the deal was done and it was going to be signed July 1?

Let’s go Pens.

Good I’m tired of hearing rumours of him leaving
IndyAJD
8.7 for 3 or 4 years.

This isn’t even a thought that comes to my mind. I have zero concerns. Sure I’ll be curious when it’s announced, but I know Sid will retire with the Pens so there absolutely no doubt here
KilldeertheFaker
I bet he signs on August 7th.
_Michael___Scarn
any chance he signs a super team friendly deal so we have one more shot at a cup????
Straight_Wheel_2114
Huge signing. It keeps people in the seats and gives us time to rebuild. If he takes less than market value it will elevate him to God-like status.

Are you allowed to include team-equity as part of a contract?

Curious what team Nova Scotians follow mostly?

He’s signing for $10.87 today, coz it’s July 8 which is written as 8/7/24 almost everywhere else! 😂 Edit to add: he’ll retire once he hits 1,987 points.
