Teams aren't struggling to find goaltenders like Buffalo, Detroit etc. THEY ARE STRUGGLING TO FIND TEAM DEFENCE. Most of these teams leave the goaltenders struggle alone.
It's amazing that professional commentators and analytical people think the problem is in the goaltenders when team's can't defend or have absolutely no organization on their team.
He lets in to many bad goals
The Ducks do stink. The leafs also stink it up against smelly teams.

Samsonov has to play games with the Marlies to try to figure things out and potentially get back into a form where he can either get another shot with the Leafs or generate at least a small amount of trade value. Can't see him figuring it out any other way.
Treliving should be getting buried right now. His moves this past offseason have been a bust! His best move was not signing Samsonov to a longer deal. He better improve things soon with upcoming moves.
If Willy gets that next year no defence no goalie miss the playoffs.
If Willy's next contract is 8 years at $11.25M/year, I'd shop him for a sign and trade. The Leafs need a definite #1 goalie and a solid right shot D man to support the blue line. At the bare minimum. This assumes they want to be considered a cup contending team. Alternatively, if you are wanting to do this Nylander deal, then you have to trade Tavares. The numbers don't work and the mix won't work without it.

Honestly, MLSE acts too slow to salvage Samsonov for this season, do they really trust him when in playoff time even he come back up as a fringe backup goalie. I guess they are just doing him curtesy, by not saying they gave up on him. They are buying time at this moment and they have already expected the worst outcome. Hopefully, can get a veteran goalie by trade deadline.

35 minutes of throwing Samsonov under the bus and then laughing about it. Samsonov is one of many , many issues the Leafs have. The biggest is lack of any even basic team defense and identity. Its fill the net and look pretty or go home. The only way this team is going anywhere is to address this first. Hard 1st round playoff exit.

With the Bertuzzi thing it's because they get no shots from the blue line for him to tip in. Reilly is the only offensive D they have and they're not always on the ice together

I don't believe WN will get 11+. He's more 9.5 and definitely not comparable with Pastrnak, he's better than Willie. He's also not as good as MM. Yes, he's had a good first 30 games. If he gets what K says he wil I hope he doesn't go back to being a soft floater. I love the guy, he's just not an 11m a yr player.
