Which I am okay with. We still need a lot of improvement in our system, as well as getting rid of bad contracts. I think realistically our goal for this year is to see improvement out of all of our young guys, and to see 2/4 projected trade pieces get traded

They are obviously counting on a number of young guys taking the next step, Farabee, Foerster, Tippett, Frost all need to continue to improve over their point production last year. This year is make or break for Frost to see if he can fit in this system. Goaltending will be a big unknown, Fedotov could be anywhere from a fringe NHLer to elite if he lives up to his KHL play, and Ersson is inconsistent so far. The roster is wildly unchanged with the exception of adding Michkov, which is awesome but I still wish Danny would have acquired a new center for the system via trade. Id argue this roster is worse than last year simply due to the subtraction of Carter Hart which largely carried the team in the first half of last season.

Funnily enough. I agree our roster improved a decent amount but I fully expect us to be far worse next season. Last year was a lightning in a bottle rise that wasn’t sustainable. The crash to earth is coming. But we are a better team than we were last season.

The best thing that could come out of this upcoming season is Michkov actually displaying dominant scoring potential and Foerster continuing to develop.
Kinda surprised at the lack of chatter on Foerster in this sub in general. I felt like he had a sensational year and I don’t really see him mentioned much. If his trajectory continues upward or he can solidify what he did last year as a consistent thing, it is absolutely huge for the team.
I just don’t want them to do some dumb shit and force a marginal 2C into a 1C position in an attempt to speed up the rebuild. Be bad. Draft high end talent centers.

I honestly don’t really care where they finish this year. As long as they keep playing like they give a fuck. With the exception of a couple games in that losing streak towards the end, they never looked like they just gave up and were phoning in the rest of the game like they did in 2020-2023
