  1. Laine has 0 trade value. Columbus will need to drop 1st rounder to trade him. Kuznetsov not even close 10 times better player and has 1 year left, big difference. Caps are good we don't need an anchor. maybe pittsburgh wants him 😂

  2. Has he even stopped drinking yet? He’s still in the addicts program how would any team take him on. His career is over more than likely because he can’t just say no.

  3. I would welcome Laine in FL! I think our team and PoMo could get the most out of him. Also, we have no depth now that so many walked😢

  4. If no 1st given the will have to retain 25% minimum salary and still throw in a 2nd. The only trade available is a cap dump trade for Columbus because youre right. He has zero trade value at 8.7 million

  5. Montreal has 7 picks in the first 3 rounds next year. There is definitely something they could do. And if Columbus is willing to take say Anderson and a 2nd, there might not be a need for Columbus to retain anything. It would only take 3 mil of the 20 mil cap space they have. It's a gamble but Habs have so many prospects and picks, I think it's time they use them for something like this.

  6. I wish the best for Laine, I feel so bad for him and I hope the return is at least a solid prospect and a 2nd but we'll see, I'll miss him in CBJ

  7. 8.7$ million for next two years. He's a killick. He last scored 30 goals in 2018/19. Josh Anderson and a second round pick.
Kuznetsov is actually a better player. Laine was at one time, a better scorer.

But you don't want him on your roster.
I don't want Laine but will they take Anderson off our hands? Then Maybe.

  8. If the Caps are willing to trade a first round pick for P. Laine then let the Caps suffer the consequence. Laine is another Drouin and I believe Montreal understands this fully

  9. Laine isn't worth even a 3rd rounder since you will never get the old Laine back if you get an active player at all. You do not waste picks to downgrade the future with little to no return now. That would just be stupid. Laine with 0 salary retained and a 4th then maybe but anything higher then that is too risky. At half retained that would be pretty pricey if he is only good for 20 or 30 games over the remainder of his contract.

  10. If I'm Winnipeg, I'm definitely considering this. There is a familiarity between the players they know what to expect. He has some great seasons here. All I can think about is you can have a line of scheifely ehlers and lione and a second line of Connor, perfetti and vilardi. That's pretty darn good if perfetti aces and face-offs pretty solid

  11. Imagine if Washington gets Laine with PLD. They were draft picks number 2 and 3 from the same year and both got kicked out of Winnipeg and played with the blue jackets. Wild world man.

  12. lol you’re not getting a first for Laine. You’d be lucky to get a second and that’s with 50% retained.
His best season in Columbus doesn’t even surpass his worst in Winnipeg. Going to Columbus ruined him and I’d be in the NHL player assistance program too if that’s where I ended up.
Just trade him at 50% retained. Columbus isn’t winning anything in the next two seasons anyway, you don’t lose anything in the long term by doing so and letting your rookies develop.

Get Johnny hockey out of there too
