If palmieri returns and plays how he did in the playoffs, all of eberles production is basically made up for. Palms or wahlstrom will move up to take his place and lee takes komorovs spot. And if the rumors of parise are true, than he replaces zajac on the 3rd. Isles could be better than last year.

The Islanders style of play has not changed since. Al. Arbour.(my favorite all time coach) Sure they don't have the prolific Hall of fame scorers that won four straight. Stanley. Cups…but. Barry. Trotz(my 2nd favorite all time coach).coaches extremely similar style as the great. Al. Arbour.(way ahead of his time) It's playoff hockey , winning hockey and if you notice it has become more than somewhat of a blue print that many teams(4 lines…scoring checking etc.)have adopted Great analogy of early extended road trip and thank you for the cudos to myđ beloved. Palmieri replaces Eberle, which gives the Isles Palmieri, Bailey and Wahlstrom down the right side, which is very good. Eberle never consistently found his confidence in the Trotz era, and looked uncomfortable playing first line minutes and matchups next to Barzal. The loss of Leddy is more concerning. He had his warts, but they have yet to replace him with anyone.
I'm picking them to go 3rd in the Metro, Their gonna be good enough to make it into the playoffs no doubt, but they're gonna take it easy the way the 2019-2020 Lightning did and wait for the playoffs.

Not having Lee clogging the lane really deflated the team last year. No disrespect to the Lightning, they're an incredible team, but having a solid net presence might have made all the difference in the playoffs. Hopefully he can stay healthy this year.

In Tampas two cup runs the only team to make them face elimination or at least get passed game 6 was the Islanders. They lost by one fluke short handed goal, that stings they're so close

Tough sledding to start the season on a 13-game road trip. It appears they can still spend some time at home in between games as some of the trip is broken up into 3 or 4 day stretches with no games. With one of the best coaches in NHL history behind the bench, it's hard to believe the road trip will push the team off course. Anything can happen, especially in this sport, but this is a group poised to go far once again.

You compiled this video before some acquisitions and signings. Iâd love to hear your take on the year now! I totally agree that the 13 away games to start the year is key for this team. this team has no holes! I look for the Isles to continue to play that shut-down defense as always but look for an enhanced scoring capability this year. I think the Isles win the Stanley Cup this year and Iâve put my money where my mouth is!
It starts tonight in Carolina, whom I see as the Isles biggest threat in the Metro.

Surprise surprise! This team sucks and this season proved it. They relied on COVID to end their seasons prematurely. All these hilarious takes below me are even funnier now. Did you really think a team this unskilled would make the playoffs against other monster teams? Barzal, the supposedly elite center, who struggles to score 20 goals a season? Wahlstrom, the terrifying goal scorer that is as life-threatening as a paper cut? Nelson, who scores goals and then disappears? The Islanders have nothing. Dobson looks good. Raty? Unproven. lol It's okay Piles, you always have the golden years of 40 years ago.
