  1. No to patches i still like idea of veteran short term deal on wing maybe .

We got lot of trade bait for trade deadline for upcoming season so tbh i might wait and see what get in return for players like savard maybe armia or some other players on last year of their deal.

We honestly dont need to need free agent moves till next off-season where we can make some moves for bigeer free agents depending who gets there

  2. Max took a team friendly contract and gave us his best years. He showed a lot of courage to come back after being almost killed by that vicious Chara hit. I don’t think he was as bad as a lot say. I don’t think bringing him back works at this stage of the rebuild as there are younger players in the system who can and will bring more.

  3. Max would be okay to bring back if we already didn't have Gallagher and Anderson. I think the Habs are better served to use a prospect in the lineup. Even on a one year deal, the value Max would bring is not as great as further development of prospects.

  4. There is no way this management team will acquire Max at this stage of his career.

Signing any UFA forward results in Habs having 14 forwards on the roster, unless there is a trade. Slaf & Roy are the only two waiver exempt so Roy gets sent down. Not going to happen.

This season Habs have 5 pending UFAs on their roster with at least 3 moving on so the 2025/26 season is the ideal time to sign a UFA, if necessary.

  5. Keep Patch away from this team, and keep Savard as close as possible with the youngs. Savard and Matheson has been mentoring the youngsters last seasons. They currently bring experience, leadership, mentoring and skills which are much needed in this young brigade of D-men. Apart from Savard and Matheson, Guhle and Harris are the only two with more than 100 matches in the NHL to their counter. Hutson, Rainbacher, Mailloux and to a certain extent Struble, and Xekhaj also need an anchor to rely on when they'll be making mistakes.

  6. As a Slovak I say trade Filip Mešár. Hopefully he gets a fresh start and learn some humulity. We will need him for IIHF in the upcoming years, being flop is not an option.

  7. No on Max Pacioretty. If the habs wants to "rejuvenate" a player and sign a Free Agent for "scoring punch" why not keep your money and "rejuvenate" Anderson. They already have a player that could score more than he did last year without costing more money. Now if you are getting a player that you know that you're getting a guarantied top 6 then sure, but Max Pacioretty is not that player.

  8. If i have to choose between Pacioretti vs Toffolli i’ll take toffolli 300% more motivation and Max did felt happy at all in MTL

  9. While on the topic of Pacioretty and former captains..Josh, the picture behind you on the wall. Is it all former captains?? Looks pretty nice. Also might be missing Doug Harvey between Maurice Richard and Jean Beliveau

  10. Yes because bringing back one of the worst captain this team ever had, way past his prime, injury ridden pacioretty is exactly what we need right now.

There's no way this management does this move but if they did I would completely lose faith

  11. Gotta disagree slightly about the whole thing on the habs not focusing on prospect development in the past. We never had prospects we were always a team that was built with signings and grandfathered in players from previous regimes. We used to have like 2 decent prospects when drafted, otherwise a player development coach never made sense when we had a regime that didn’t build or draft that way.
