Kakko thus far has been a bit like Podkolzin. The major differences are the a lot more was expected from Kakko offensively because he went 2nd overall, and Podkolzin actually does things other than score. He hits, works hard and he's defensively responsible. Despite his size, Kakko is kind of one note. If he's not going to be a scorer, he'd better find something else to do. Podkolzin was already known for physicality and grit, so his development hasn't been much of a stretch.
I get bad flashbacks when I see rangers, canucks, and trade in the same sentence
As a Canucks fan, I really like our forward core already, but if you add Kakko in our top 6 that would be cool. Now it depends on what the Rangers want for him. I don’t think his value is that high right now though.
