We need to talk about what happened to McDavid…

Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals saw the Florida Panthers defeat the Edmonton Oilers for the Stanley Cup, while Connor McDavid took home the Conn Smythe as a consolation prize. #nhl #floridapanthers #edmontonoilers

  1. guys it’s a sport. booing and cheering is just a part of it and it always has been. OF COURSE THE FANS WANTED A PANTHER TO GET IT. Now they are showing their dissatisfaction. Do not even try and act like Edmonton goobers wouldn’t have done the exact same thing. it’s fine and so is not coming out to get it. McDavid wanted the cup and he played like it, he cares more about his team than a stupid trophy. he wanted the oilers to win not himself. i’m an avalanche fan and despise the oilers but neither of these acts were “classless” you guys get so butt hurt over a sport when you aren’t even the ones playing.

  2. Just like Matthews with Toronto, Until McDavid leaves Edmonton he will never win the cup. When Barkov shut McDavid down the whole team became average.

  3. Face it Oilers fans there is a good chance McDavid doesn’t win a cup. He isn’t surrounded with Hall of Famers like 99 was.

  4. I love a lot of what Knoblauch did with the team this season, but when the third line, who was the only line to score a goal for the Oilers, sits the entire period while you run the first line into the ground…dude, that ain't good!

  5. Hockey is a winter sport. My feeling is that places in Florida, Texas, LA, California, etc., have no business to play hockey, anyway. So there!
    Oh, sorry, I forgot, it's the money…

  6. If you have a crappy game seven which loses your team a Stanley Cup that should automatically take you out of the run for the Conn Smythe…ie McScoreless. Would be completely different if his team gave up on him and he was the only one that was productive, but he would’ve better served his team opening and closing the door for the bench then that shotty performance on ice at the most important game of his career. Some leaders rise to the occasion, like Wayne Gretzky the real greatest player on earth, and some fold under pressure during A game 7 after having all the momentum from a three game winning streak.

  7. Panthers were always the team of Destiny. Noone but their fans wanted to give them credit though. Calling the Rangers and the Oilers the TOD..plain disrespectful. Panthers were the best defensive team all year, they just got away from their game for 3 nights.
