  1. Hope Vladimir is doing okay. Losing a parent is never easy, but he’s also probably busy transitioning to a new team on top of that. Got to be extra stressful on him. Do we know what happened? 55 is awfully young.

Goddamn what a rollercoaster for Vlad this past couple weeks. Losing a parent so young has to be extra heartbreaking. It says it was sudden, so hopefully he was able to see the new baby and celebrate the cup win with the family before he went.

  3. Wow…that is crushing. For anyone unaware, his father was a top player in the Russian league. And he was the head coach of Novosibirsk when Vladimir was a player there.

That really sucks. Thoughts going out to Tarasenko.

I just lost my Dad in May… significantly older, but that didn’t make it any easier.

Best wishes to Vladimir and his family.

  6. Andrei was working in HC Sibir for 16 years. It’s a loss for Novosibirsk hockey.

  7. Man that’s so sad, vlads probably had a rollercoaster of emotion this past year, I hope he takes the time to process this and has a good support system.

As a coach how do you handle something like this? It’s a tough situation, and I can only imagine how this could affect one’s psyche/play.

Maybe chiarot can be somebody to lean on having gone through it pretty recently as well.

  8. That’s horrible, his dad was so young. Rest in peace.

Damn gotta move cities, change teams, learn new routines, and now he’s lost his father. Dude is probably in horrible shape mentally, or at least I would be in his situation. Glad there’s still a long off-season for him to find some balance before hitting the grind
