I think the best way I can put this is, nobody knows how these moves will workout. All moves have a risk to them. But can we sit here and say the caps are in a better place than they were last offseason at this time? Absolutely. By this time last year, disappointment ran over me. I think the caps did an amazing job finding players that could potentially fill the holes that were evident last season without giving up their top prospects or first round picks. Let’s see how it plays out but I have a lot more excitement entering this season than last.

I think PLD has finally found his home. Will become the face of the franchise and score 40 goals and 90 points several times.
Having the right perspective is everything. The incorrect perspective is Kemper for Dubois. The right perspective is Dubois for $3.25 for 3 yrs, then $8.5 for the final 4 yrs, plus opening up a spot for Logan and possibly Shepherd down the road. ($3.25 is the differnece from Kemps contract as backup goalie). Dubois will improve our PP, get more minutes, and hopefully gel. Easily worth the risk with huge payout potential. How could you not want to be here? New head coach, new GM, All-time goal scorer, strong locker room, family organization…This team will only get better from here in the foreseeable future.
