Boston Bruins Offseason Outlook

[Music] anyone look good eh but you went back to black and gold I love those gold last year sop look who is there a new friend you got the full bag I’m Nik nice to meet you nice to meet you this will be where you spend all your extra time here it’s the best best room in the house I know I enjoy I like this room it’s a good spot to be right you’re excited to have you all right enjoy it budy let’s be in touch okay he’s the best defenseman all time eight eight noris trophies it’s crazy say hi to the coach my God you guys got new little teddy bears hey D how are you nice to meet you she’s got she’s got her gum everything and I feel like this city is engaged into the sports um like you look at the all four teams in here they all been winning the all been championship and fans expect you to win every year so I like that I like the pressure like I could be could be on on the on the TV you know commentator usn reporters [Music] Nikita beautiful day here along the Charles what’s it like to be in Boston knowing you’re going to be a well it’s awesome I mean get the used to City you know kind of scroll around for past couple days when you come to the rink you see this banners stop banners and uh just went to wa to more and then get to know the teammates awesome and see the fire in their eyes it’s it helps a lot [Music] now I’m standing beside the stat of Bobby or is one of the goals for [Music] sure on July 1st that player Nikita zadorov joined us I was sitting right here he explained he didn’t like my suit and tie combination so I wore Bruin’s color specifically for you Nikita I respect his game I respect his appreciation for the history and I appreciate him as a player so him arriving there yeah there’s such an appreciation for the history of the Boston Bruins that is genuine that came across on July 1 what kind of an impact will he make yeah another guy that brings up you know a wide variety of elements and let you just start by saying you know zadorov a Russian born player one of the toughest challenges for um players born in the Russian culture just that transition to North American Hockey North American way of life um just given the disparity between you know that and Western culture zidor off my point tone is for whatever reason he’s just been so adaptable just embraced everything NHL everything North America and he really steps into the NHL culture and he loves it like you can just tell he’s got a real enthusiasm um you know a robust appetite for all things related to the game and and this culture which makes him a great teammate which makes him a vital contributor inside the room um and his game is you know is one that this uh this Boston Bruns organization is really going to be be able to tap into his strengths he does have some offensive upside but a really stiff hardened competitor uh a great defender a guy that you’ve just got to be you’ve got to have awareness out there because he’s great big body he can close time and space on uh NHL forwards as well as anybody in the game today and will deliver that you know bone crunching Thunder from time to time you just got to have awareness around that so a great ad to the bees Decor no question about it we saw Sweeney we saw Montgomery and Nikita talked about the banners you know what the standard is in Boston their ins and outs their additions and subtractions this team has been busy that Top Line some tractions lenaar couple years ago that guy was the vzna winner quality players on both sides of this screen take your first impression which one name jumps out at you immediately yeah a theme that you know we as analysts touched on a lot last year this time last year around trade deadline it was still very much an open question CI probably isn’t coming back berson was uh we’re uncertain that’s that’s you know Center one and two for this Boston organization and they’ve been the lifeblood for a good long while a big part of Club success in the past so this group had not been able to address that gaping hole last year Elias Lindholm for me as I look at that board of additions tone is an important spot for um Don Sweeney to focus on uh this is a guy that uh you know really had a brilliant season along with a you know long cast of others uh going back a few years the calvary Flames organization but Elias Lindholm is one of the games when he’s on top of his game one of the great two-way centerman in this game somebody that really ought to Garner uh more uh skky attention year toe and um a guy that’s you know had 70 point Seasons he’s been north of 80 points going back to that really brilliant year that he and his Flames had uh a few years back but that’s to me that’s a great ad and you’ve done you’ve gone a long ways towards addressing you know that that hole you’ve got um that disparity that you’ve got down the middle where the BR runes are concerned so I I think you’re going to see uh a notable difference really from game one forward having secured a somebody like a lindol and their regular season play there’s been continuity and consistency and good performances under Jim Montgomery
