Beckett Sennecke will be better than Celebrini?!

Beckett Sennecke could very well end up being the best player from the 2024 NHL Draft class, even better than the San Jose Sharks’ #1 overall pick, Macklin Celebrini, according to Shane Doan on the @SpittinChiclets podcast. I give my thoughts on it in this video!

  1. I didn't get to looking at Sennecke until a couple of weeks before the draft. I was still hoping for Demidov at first just because he's been all the rage since last year, but wasn't "too" shocked that Sennecke was chosen. His skillset truly is legit. The only down side is time. Let's say he grows another inch and gets to 6'4". He is just over 180 lbs right now. Building muscle naturally through simply growing and working out takes time. With where he is at now it will take at least four years for him to fill out to his adult form…maybe five. That doesn't mean he won't play in the NHL prior to that but we won't see 100% Sennecke for a while. I have a feeling when he is ready for the NHL in one to two years he will be pretty amazing right off the bat. The road to the cup will still take some time, but the ride has been fun so far! GO DUCKS!

  2. Hopefully the kid proves to be a good pick. Better than Celebrini seems like a stretch but time will tell.

  3. Montreal was going to pick a forward regardless of who it was. Utah was a surprise picking a forward when the speculation was they woul pick defense. So naturally, they would be interestef in Sennecke.

  4. Wow, so many negative comments. Sorry DML.
    Keep up the vids.
Prospects are like choosing horse racing, anything can happen over the next few years including injuries, development, team goals, etc.

  5. These rubber ducks are making terrible moves hahaha. Go yetis can’t wait to stomp you guys out for the season sweep this years hahaha. UTAH FOR CUP BABY WOOO

  6. I like spittin chicklets and all, but they say some very controversial things for clout. Senecke already grew from 5’11 to 6’2 which is where he will likely land. Even if he gets bigger he is not at all physical and his” high end skill” is good but he tries to go one on one too much. Because of this, basically everyone had him from 10 to 15. I really think ducks fans need to just come to terms with the fact that this was a head scratcher by Verbeek and this is not another Mason Mctavish. Cellebrini is far and away the best player in the draft, and the only one who is close is Demidov. He is much smarter about using his high end skill and plays in a league where you can’t get away with being the type of player Sennecke is, not to mention his two way impact. If sennecke was selected where he was supposed to go, nobody would be saying things about him.

  7. As a Preds fan, I don’t care who turns out to be the better player as long as the Ducks keep that new, sweet jersey! You guys just skyrocketed from the worst jersey in the NHL, to the absolute BEST! Grats dudes and good luck in the upcoming season.
