I think Samberg could get a similar contract to Demelo. But hopefully longer term
Why does Dylan Samberg deserve a "hefty raise"? He deserves to be played for sure, however 14 points in 5 years isn't worthy of a "hefty raise" 6 Million is beyond crazy. it's Ludacris
Given how much salary cap is going up i could see small markets/cap teams if they are sure on guys take 6-8yr deals.
Example if we give Perfetti
Bridge 2x3m=6 maybe he view himself as 7m and is worth 7×5=35m+6-41m.
Player would have to hope no injuries or bet on themseleves.
Or skip bridge
Sign 7/8yrs x6m right away
7years would equal 42m
And 8 would be 48m we would be overpaying first 2years but as cap goes up those deals can become steals and add stability.
Even if cap did go up and your a 1st liner making 7m you wernt worth it first 5years but now your worth 9m. Shouldnt be mad outperformed your contract. And youll come out late 20s/30 years old able sign new deal.
Guys who are less talented but have roles example a Lowry/Laughton/Domi/Bertuzzi type but younger its still better lock up 5-8years exspecially if not a destination for UFA. Sign a prospect under 23 to a 5/6x 3million. Or 3-3.5m
