the 2025 NFL draft is a ways away but the college football season isn’t there are a few quarterbacks to really keep an eye on Carson Beck shadur Sanders Jaylen milroe and Quinn ERS he was a number one recruit and has been good at Texas he’s Bound for the pros next year and due for another big season ERS was born back on March 15th 2003 in San Antonio Texas he played at Carol high in South Lake Texas where his head coach was Riley Dodge former Texas quarterback’s coach as a sophomore ERS threw for 4,000 yards and 45 touchdowns with only three interceptions yeah he was really good already he missed time as a junior and at 2,442 yards and 28 touchdowns and led South Lake to the state championship game but lost ERS then decided to skip his senior year and enroll at Ohio State Quinn Urus was the number one recruit in the 2022 class he received a perfect 247 Sports composite rating the first quarterback since Vince Young to do so he committed to Texas in August 2020 but decommitted about 2 months later then in November he committed to Ohio State it was an insane recruit recruiting class for the Buckeyes Ryan day also got the number two recruit in the country defense lineman JT tuy MOA Ohio state had six of the top 11 recruits including defensive lineman Jack Sawyer offensive lineman Donovan Jackson wide receiver AA abuka and running back trayon Henderson who actually got to cover when he was at Hopewell High it was a heck of a class but ERS was buried on the depth chart CJ strad was the starter Kyle McCord the Buckey 2023 starter and now at Syracuse he was the second string and Jack Miller was the third string ERS only took two snaps All Season at the end of a win against Michigan State 2 months later he transferred Quinn yers was once again perfectly rated as a transfer but wasn’t number one he was number two behind reigning Heisman winner Caleb Williams who went from Oklahoma to USC then at 3 and four some notable names Jordan Addison from pit to USC with Caleb and jir Gibbs from Georgia Tech to Alabama ers went to who he grew up a fan of and originally committed to Texas where he played for Steve sarkeesian sarkeesian coached Carson Palmer Matt leinard and Mark Sanchez at USC Jake Locker at Washington Matt Ryan with the Falcons and two a Tung of ioa and Ma Jones at Alabama he knows how to coach quarterbacks and maybe ERS is the next good sarkeesian product yurs was the longhorn starter in 2022 with fourstar Hudson card backing him up I saw C who transferred to Purdue beat Virginia Tech last season after what was the longest delay in college football history at 5 hours 207 minutes year one in Austin there was so much hype around ERS the Longhorns won the season opener versus Louisiana Monro ERS had some struggles but had flashes then the next week it was time for number one Alabama Bryce young versus Quinn yers but not for long yers suffered a sprained clavicle during the first first quarter Texas LED late but a Bryce scramble led to a game-winning field goal with 10 seconds remaining for a 20-9 Crimson Tide dub eers missed the next three games Texas beat UTSA in West Virginia with an overtime loss to Texas Tech in between Texas was 3-2 when ERS returned for an Oklahoma matchup and it was the Sooners without the starter Dylan Gabriel had a concussion Texas smoked OU in the Red River rival 49-0 ERS had a season high four touchdowns and an interception he threw three touchdowns without a pick then ERS had a rough outing throwing two touchdowns but three interceptions and a loss to number 11 Oklahoma State it started a stretch of three straight ranked matchups the lon hordes beat number 13 Kansas State 2 weeks later but then lost to number four TCU on November 4th 17-10 yers really struggled 17 of 39 he had a pick no touchdowns Texas got right with back-to-back wins over Kansas and Baylor and played in the alamoo bile it was against Washington so quen uers versus Michael penx penx got the best of eers and it foreshadowed the next season too yers was good year one with Texas he had 2,177 yards 15 touchdowns and five interceptions Texas lost a couple of big-time running backs to the NL draft to bejan Robinson and Roshan Johnson but the Longhorns were fine Jonathan Brooks was still there ad freshman running back CJ Baxter and Georgia transfer Adan I Mitchell to pair with Xavier worthy and tight in gavon Sanders of course there were other newcomers like five-star Arch Manning yers did miss two games but it was Malik Murphy now at Duke who started he won against BYU and number 23 Kansas State in overtime yers got off to a hot start throwing three touchdowns without a pick in the first two games of the Season versus rice and number three Alabama at Bryant Denny Stadium the Longhorns won the next 3-2 against Wyoming Baylor and number 24 Kansas Texas suffered its first loss 34-30 to number 12 Oklahoma the Red River rivalry Gabriel actually played that game and Oklahoma just looked like a completely different team with him I mean he’s going to be be really scary at Oregon this season Texas did respond by beating Houston but ERS suffered a shoulder injury during the win he returned for the last three regular season contests Texas btcu Iowa State and Texas Tech Texas made the Big 12 championship and yers tossed a season high four touchdowns plus an interception in a 49-21 victory ERS had a big 12 Championship record 452 yards s Texas was the number three seed in the college football playoff the Longhorns were matched up against Washington for the second straight post season yers didn’t turn the ball over and he had a touchdown but Washington won 37-31 ERS had a fantastic year 3,479 yards 22 touchdowns six interceptions he was second Team all Big 12 he’s only a red shirt Junior but a jump to the NFL is on the horizon Urus has missed time in both seasons at Texas if he does now it’ll be Arch Manning replacing him and everyone is anticipating his first Collegiate start his dad is Cooper Manning uncles are pton Manning and Eli Manning grandfather Archie Manning Arch too played at Isidor Norman in New Orleans Louisiana he started as a freshman and did all four years there Eli had a record 7,268 career passing yards Payton had a record 93 career touchdowns Arch broke both he was great which is why he was the number one recruit there was plenty of Old Miss buzz and talk about Alabama or Georgia but Arch chose Texas Arch was buried on the depth chart last season he made his Collegiate debut against Texas Tech throwing the only five passes of his career so far completing two for 30 yards he didn’t transfer from Texas even with ‘s the clear starter Arch will get his time but he probably needs ERS to leave first the 2 NFL Draft has three big quarterback prospects for now Carson Beck is arguably the best he was a fourstar in the 2020 class the number five Pro style quarterback the one and two was actually DJ yui angal and CJ stoud Beck had to wait his turn behind STS and Bennett at Georgia and took over as the starter last season the Bulldogs were good again Georgia went 13- one and only lost to Alabama in the SEC Championship Beck passed for 39 100 yards 24 touchdowns and six interceptions and rushed for four touchdowns he showed a ton of talent it’s no wonder why he’s a top quarterback prospect right now Sanders is probably the most interesting one it always helps when your dad’s Dion Sanders he played at Jackson State for two seasons he was a three-star recruit he played for his dad at Trinity Christian and then again at Jackson State he had 70 touchdowns and 14 interceptions and nine rushing touchdowns there he transferred to Colorado to follow his dad shur was a fourstar transfer number four quarterback after Sam Hartman dein ly and Hudson card he had a great season for the buffalo’s last season 3,230 yards 27 touchdowns only three interceptions he’s a fun quarterback prospect for sure those are definitely the top three guys for now but there are some other intriguing names Riley Leonard and cam Ward or transfers who could make a jump then some returners like Drew LA and Jaylen milro Quinn yers is definitely top three but there’s a lot of potential movement for him based on the season whether it’s up or down ERS has been good at Texas and had a collegiate career most expected he’s a top tier quarterback and should be even better now and once he does make his mark it’ll be time to make the ultimate move to the NFL and Arch Manning will take over
