context: One of our families members is an OUTSTANDING human being but when it comes to sports takes he is absolutely delusional ESPECIALLY with his favorite team NHL team… the seattle kraken. He has 7 fav different MLB teams, loved the Blackhawks growing up til about 2018 now he dislikes them, has 3 NBA teams, 4 fav NFL teams, and 5 MLS teams

(not like he’s lived a bunch of places nor anything)…

He said they would win the cup in the year of 2024 back in August 2023. They would not only become the fastest expansion team to win a stanley cup but the first ever team to go 16-0 in the playoffs… he is 100% being serious

  2. PattyKane16

Top 3 most delusional things I’ve ever seen

  3. Abso_lutely_not

Feels like you’re just as wrong as they are but what do I know.

  4. Valuable-Box-1203

It amazes me how confident some people are (I notice more of it more recently than I ever have before for whatever reason) about being so wrong. It’s so frustrating

  5. I would love to be so excited about sports that I say something that dumb

  6. CakeSnake

I’m a Kraken fan (and a Pens fan since ’94). I like Beniers, but this is just stupid…

  7. quickboop

Sounds like something I would say. Did I say this?

  8. He’s got something Crosby never will, a Calder trophy. And one point more in his first 2 (plus a bit) seasons than Sid had as a rookie. So, uh, yeah.

  9. DoYouEvenCareAboutMe

As a Pens fan hahaha no way, as an American though I wish he would

  10. hangryhyax

“You’re a ~~Terrence~~ Mathew who, even though he’s not a child, still goes by a nickname ending in a Y.”

Captain Holt disagrees with this silly take on Beniers.

  11. Responsible-Debt-386

Francis didn’t win a Cup in Carolina, Rutherford was the GM. Carolina didn’t even make the playoffs under Francis. Mostly because Rutherford mortgaged their future, just like he did here.

As for the rest of that, I had always heard the drug scene was primo in Seattle.

  12. Content-Attorney7056

“Weed is more addictive than crack”

  13. Active-Possibility77

You read it here….that will NEVER happen

  14. UltraBurd

Oh boy wait till he finds out his team has Wright, that dude is better than Mario and Sid combined

  15. 18 year old Sidney Crosby made Andy Hilbert nearly a point per game player. 7/11 in 19 games

  16. It’s not worth the time of day you’re giving it.

  17. Metalguy_79

Mostly the Penguins made Bylsma a better coach than he was. Francis never won a cup as GM in Carolina. Beniers being better than Sid😂.

  18. It’s not really fair because the list of players better than Crosby is precisely two people long

  19. Euphoric__Dot

Beniers got 37 points last season in 77 games and he’s 22 years old later this year

Agree about Wright though, he will break out sooner rather then later

  20. Squirelm0

I still stand by the worst being that tome Crosby handed the torch to Giroux.

  21. KilldeertheFaker

Sid only became good because he played with Lemieux… for half a year. Lol

(I can’t even type that with a straight face.)

  22. HoldMyBrew_

Crosby wasn’t good because of anyone but himself. Maybe the hardest worker in the history of sports

  23. Distinct_Mud_2673

As a kraken fan, they’re delusional. I like Matty Beniers but Crosby is 100% the GOAT of his generation, Beniers is not getting that.

  24. SSWSacrifice

Gonna get downvote for bringing soccer here, but its really like arguing with Cristiano Ronaldo fans..

I really like Beniers, but he is 1/10 of player Sid is.

  25. Beggarsfeast

It’ll be easy to spot the next Crosby…

Youngest player to win a World Championship

Youngest player to record 100 points in a season (18 years, 253 days)

Youngest player to record 200 career points (19 years and 207 days)

Youngest player to record 2 consecutive 100-point seasons (19 years, 215 days)

Youngest player voted to the starting line-up in an All-Star Game

Youngest Art Ross Trophy and Lester B. Pearson Award winner

Youngest player to be named to the first All-Star team

Youngest player to lead NHL playoffs in scoring (20 years, 9 months, and 28 days)

Youngest NHL captain to win Stanley Cup (21 years, 10 months, and 5 days)

…safe to say if a player isn’t putting up numbers by 22 they better really hit the ice cause Sid the Kid was only warming up at that point, and that’s a pretty damn big head start.

  26. i don’t know why i kept reading that, i felt my I.Q. points melting like Pop-Rocks
