Held up pretty good until I got to “I’m going to miss you a lot, Bolts fans”

I thought I was handling it well, but that was tough to get through. That first game back wish Nashville is going to hurt.

I just posted, but I read the rest of the piece, and I remember reading about when he left the bubble. All the speculation and then when it came out what actually happened.
You never know who you are going to be after a loss like that. I know.
> the next few days were the most difficult we’ve ever been through
They were for us, too, when the same happened to us a few years prior.
I wrote something somewhere, addressed to Stammer about how we had been through the same thing. But I don’t think I ever sent it. I don’t know if he’d even care about how I, a fan of his, felt during our loss. Because it’s one of those things that you just don’t know how to do until you have to do it.
But I do know that, when it happened, and people were giving him shit for leaving his **job** that he wasn’t even doing because he was injured, that there was a real reason for it.
>I took the next few weeks to be with her, to be with our family. I barely paid attention to much else.
That’s the kind of person you want to be.

When you are reading the article, but the voice in your head is the players voice. Damn.

Total class guy from day 1. I hope he has a great finish to his career.

I think I’ve kind of put off dealing with the fact that he’s gone until right now. I wish him the best in Smashville.

Stammer has such a great way with words. Regrettable he isn’t finishing here, hope he’s successful in Nashville

I’m an emotional wreck hearing that. As I said, October 28th I hope we give him the reception that Gretz got when he returned to Edmonton way back when.

He forgot to add the part about ” but $8 million is $8 million so forget about all the other stuff I wrote.” I’d have more respect if he’d just said “but in the end this was a business decision on both sides.”

I’m crying. Holy fuck.

I will miss him 😭 I’m glad that when I got my only NHL jersey, it was a Stammer jersey.

Best of luck Stammer. We already miss you.

If someone finds the tattered, mashed up, mess of my heart, can you send it back to me?!

Stop cutting onions, I don’t even work in a restaurant.
So glad I have tickets to the homecoming, it’s going to be great/sad game.

I am 63 years old. Stammer is among the classiest, most well-spoken athletes of my lifetime. And he was pure magic on the ice. I’m sure gonna miss him.
