In this episode of Habs Daily News, Coach and Enortap debate whether the Canadiens should trade now or wait. Enortap believes they should trade for Rutger McGroarty immediately, while Coach thinks they should wait until next year for a bigger trade to get another top 6 forward.

Watch until the end to see who wins the debate and share your thoughts on whether the Canadiens should trade now or not in the comments below.

Don’t forget, we deliver one or two videos about the Canadiens every day, along with an evening poll question. Join us for our two shows every Sunday and Wednesday about the Canadiens.

  1. Two years from now people will realize that Guhle is not that good just another average D man and that we should have traded him when he had value.I think that we could trade Guhle to get Mcgroarty .The problem of course is that neither Barron or Harris are good enough but we are trying to trade them as if other managers really want them and they don't.
I would NEVER trade a first round pick unless you are certain your getting a first line hockey player.
When coach says we need to take a year to "see what players look like"from what I have seen nobody looks at the players they only look at goals and assists.
I will repeat what seems I have to repeat a lot if a player scores 80 goals but is a minus 20 he is NOT a good player. If a player scores 22 goals but is a plus 30 he is a really good player because the goal is WINNING and NOT about showcasing a players goals and assists.

  2. I cant understand everyone saying how good Dach is and building him up. Dach has not proven himself and after he comes back from this type of injury he may be only average.

  3. Oh so you know better than the GM eh? You know what other teams are asking? Being patient has worked out for Kent before. Give it time man. Jesus

  4. This year's lines should be Kirby dach Josh Anderson and Slav find a player to play with Caulfield and Suzuki third line would be Armia Newhook and Roy then build a big fast hard to play against fourth line and get rid of all the rest have to build size hard to play against team

  5. I don't understand the love for Dach. He's had a Kappo Kakko career but he gets regard like he's Casey Mittelstadt.

  6. Is it true that he will only sign if he plays top 6 and on the PP ! Can anyone confirm this

  7. Habs must not fall in the traps of trading a over valued player. most are over valued in those who have big big contracts. too many things can happen over 8 year contracts. They must resist falling in the traps of other DG's in the NHL

  8. Honestly the habs need to focus on making room for their young players. Dvorak, RHP, Armia and Harris should be traded. Let the young players get nhl time.

  9. Thanks for the debate Coach…helps get both sides…I tend to agree with you about this player but if a better suited player was around…go for it. This player has an attitude problem.

  10. If the demands for playing time, top 6 minutes, and Powerplay, etc, are not a smokescreen than it is best to pass on the overpay connected to the acquisition of this prospect. Habs are building a locker room of players with a team first attitude and this prospect's entitlement will disrupt that. Even if they do acquire him and he does work out, there is a strong indication that he won't fall in line with the trend of signing a team friendly contract and aligning his salary behind the Captain.
The rumoured trade package is too much for a prospect that has refused to sign with the club that drafted him…which is a red flag in itself.
