  1. I mean, we have to assume one of the model's of success would be the current Champions, Florida and recent winners like Las Vegas type rosters. The Leafs need to make every move with the intention of building a team to compete against those teams in particular. And, as much as that would include Edmonton and Colorado etc.. It is the teams built like Florida, Vegas, Boston I think are somewhat easier to put together, since All-time caliber players like Mcdavid, Cale Makar's are impossible to mimic anyways…
We should be only thinking about a 'Playoff Roster' at this point in time for the remainder of "the window of opportunity" and start with building around 1 or 2 higher end players (say Matthews, Nylander). If the other salary cap-burners have trade clauses, well then wait to free up as much cap space as possible to add pieces that give the team the proper depth that it needs, say the 4M – 5M type's players that can boost the rest of the lineup.
I do love the additions of Tanev and OEL to start with because as a huge supporter of Mccabe and Benoit i think Tanev immediately becomes the best "prevent" defender on the team. Tanev did well for Dallas, O.E.L looked good from the games i watched in the Cup Finals, I presume he had a great run the entire playoffs.
All in all, unfortunately, i think this mess could take Brad Treliving a while to build the kind of a roster to contend, but in the meantime, i guess we'll just have to watch and see what plays out.

Keep up the great work Andrew

  2. I love Ross Colton as a target, but what I will say is this particular trade doesn't work for Colorado at all. I think the value is fine, but the only reason for Colorado to entertain moving Colton is to re-gain cap space and this deal once Robertson is extended would actually cost them more cap. Yes, it would be for two players, but with Makar, Toews, Girard and Manson as their top 4, the Avs don't really have an immediate need for a guy like Liljegren so they would probably be much better off going real cheap on their #5/6 D as they've done with the Erik Brannstrom signing. In my assessment, the Avs IF they are forced into moving Colton will be looking for picks and/or a replacement center on a cheap deal.

  3. If they don't pick up any more really good wingers, they should put Robertson on the second line with Marner. Robertson's looking for the pass, Marner's looking for the shooter.

  4. Personally I can't stand Timothy lilligren way overpriced for that type of defenseman also when it comes to Nick Robertson he's got to go to only because it seems like he's not going to take the mentality most players would take and I know it's part of its his age means new coach New opportunities how we should have played it but I don't think it's good for morel keeping a guy that doesn't want to be there

Personally at least two strong two-way forwards and as for a defenseman maybe a prospect p that does have the ability to move him up and down that isn't going to complain about it I've tried to take part in your conversations and it's rare that you end up catching something I've said hopefully you've got this because I prefer your videos over say Steve dangle because of the wild like eccentric in your face approach he has like when I first saw his stuff like yes he's smart but how he starts the video with the Leafs win at the top of his lungs and stuff like that I like the fact that you take a calmer approach which gives somebody a reason to go this guy I can open up to and say all right seems like they got a good head on their shoulders you make that better first impression being calm

  5. Andrew, I’m sorry but I don’t see Robertson working in this Leafs team that already a bunch of soft core F’s with not enough heart and tons of skill and it doesn’t get us anywhere. If we’re gonna keep them all or even 3, don’t see Robertson being a good fit on this team.

  6. Also trading Mitch Marner at all I'm sorry man that's been rumored every year he's the centerpiece of our power play one of the best playmakers in the league also has always been a strong two-way forward that's the type of player you don't want to freaking trade people got mad over last year only having 86 points well hey they praised Willie when he got 40 goals for the first time when did he have 86 points people forget Mitch played in the playoffs hurt and he came back with only a few games left her after being out for about 13 which was close to a month and a half treating him at all stupid your best penalty killer your best two-way player and yes he is the guy that literally him and Matthews are a one-two punch the skill sets complement each other and unlike will who everybody wants to praise I can't stand nylander over what he refuses to do which is Play Strong defensive hockey Matthews and minor both took on the approach defense not only wins the game but it also wins championships who killed himself had already said no player on the Leafs has played like me since I've been here myself and anybody that doesn't know who killer is sorry you're not a leaf fan and what who was his hockey hero when he played in London Mitch wore number 93

  7. Omg, that Winnipeg trade would be absolutely awful. Marner alone is worth all that + 3 first round picks. Leafs say No and 🤣🤣

  8. If you're trading Robertson you need to get like a Bowen Byram type of Defenseman but you gotta keep Robertson, play him with Matthews and Marner see what happens

  9. The Colton proposed deal is a good one, though Avs may have little interest in Liljegren. Necas, Drury, and a 2nd round pick would be fine. Canes won;t give up any more than that. I propose Liljegren to the Oilers for Evander Kane. Oilers retain 1M of his 5.25M salary. Trouble is, what is Kane's current health status? Oilers likely would want more than a 7th D-man, so there's that as well.
