In today’s video I discuss the #oilers trade with the Ottawa Senators involving Xavier Bourgault and Roby Jarventie! Bourgault’s development seems to have stalled at the pro level and Jarventie has had injury troubles the last couple of seasons so a change of scenery for both players might be what they need to find their way into the NHL.
Jarventie is definitely closer to NHL-ready and has top-6 potential so let’s see if he’s able to stay healthy with Bakersfield this season. He could be a good call-up option should the NHL roster suffer any injuries. Let me know YOUR thoughts of the trade in the comment section below!

I wish the AHL put up the ice time of each player to put more perspective into production
Bourgault was probably our #2 prospect before the McLeod for Savoie trade. He might make the Senators Roster.
I'll never forgive Holland for passing on Wallsdedt to trade back and take XB. His biggest failure as GM

Wow. Jeff Jackson is off to an absolutely fantastic start as a GM. Another win for Edmonton. Jarventie is a great player with top 6 potential and you get a 4th round pick for a middle 6 prospect and Chiasson.
I have said a long time ago Holland is grade C- GM, far far behind the schedule, and would not win the Cup with Holland and Nurse on the team.When he inherited a generational player (#97) plus another elite player, #29, he could not find enough supporting cast to win a Cup, but to waste time and money to sign players like Kassian, Nurse, Campbell to huge and long contracts dragging the progress of the team. Nurse is now a 9.25M 5/6 D with 6 years left. There is no way to move this contract, and Oilers have to find a puck moving D to babysit Nurse. What a freaking stupid GM 😢😢😢. I am glad Nicholson and Holland are gone. JJ is doing a wonderful job.
