  1. Can't see any GM agreeing to those demands before the kid has even played in the league. He wants PP time before he's actually earned anything? I'm sure Hughes will know how to navigate it but the sense of entitlement is concerning.

  2. I would totally not overpay on this player but in reality lmo this is a tactic on the players demands just to get out of wpg I live in wpg and I'm hearing that's more the reason so if I'm Kent Hughes Hughes I don't sell the farm for this player !! Wpg is a hard sell for players this might be or is the reason on this player

  3. Seems like a gross overpayment for a player who does not drive the play, had mediocre skating and stick handling ability, and possesses a significant amount of self-entitlement.
He could be a good fit with his size and nose for the net, but he’d be dependent on others with much greater talent, which the Canadiens do happen to have.

  4. You can't demand a top 6 role before your proven so in imo the moral of the story the player just wants out its pretty obvious Minnesota is rumoured to be also involved and Minnesota is also a cold weather city so this player just wants out of wpg but here's the but you can't overpay on this player in my humble opinion !! Have a wonderful day !!

  5. You have to earn your ice time, McGroarty has yet to prove himself at the Nhl level, giving in to any contract demands is a rabbit hole that I would not go down.If you want power play time: earn it! McGroarty's seemimgly entitled attitude is a big red flag for me.I'd pass on him.

  6. Ill take the kid any day….. he would fit perfectly with the habs ! Marty and suzuki would put the kids where he belongs , he just dont want to play for the jets period !

  7. One of the jobs of the coach is to assess his players and adjust their ice time, it's rediculous for a player to make that demand

  8. Honestly for me im looking for a long term big and skilled player guaranteed top 6. I think the only person we should be going for is Necas that can help the team now and in the future. If not Necas then no one else. Just focus on own players

  9. Mchroraty is average size … Habs need skill size … 210 pounds plus ..

and an intimation factor … This Winnipeg kid is a non starter for me….Lawson Crouse to Montreal or die …

  10. Well there were two DUMB managers one Hughes offering a first round pick.yet again geesh and Winnipeg for declining the first round pick.
My argument is always that a first round pick must be in hopes the player is a first line talent.I would have traded Guhle straight up because imo Guhle is not a top pair D man he is a second pair D and also imo over rated he has no high end skills.
Now if it is the "demands" then eyah I am not ever giving player control of his ice time every single player has to EARN it but then again Slafkovsky did not earn his first line status.

  11. Very interesting trade… Lets see how it turns out… A little bit sad though that Mesar from Spisska Bela didnt leave a bigger impact or better impression with the Habs….

  12. McGroarty has the demands like a Shane Wright stare down . Don't want the kid . Too much risk and i do not want a Matthew Tkachuk scenario down the road . I Would Pass on this kid . Montreal can do better .

  13. Habs should avoid McGroarty drafted #14 in 2022 because of his attitude. Owen Beck also drafted in 2022 #33 is already superior to McGroarty, who is overrated.

Habs have a similar player in Joshua Roy 6'0'', 190lbs, drafted in 2021 shoots left also and is garanteed great 3rd line or good 2nd line left wing and has bigger potential than McGroarty and Roy loves Mtl.

I would play Mesar in Laval next season in top6 and trade him for 2025 2nd round pick.

I would trade Jordan Harris for 2nd or 3rd round pick 2025.

I would trade both of those 2nd picks for a 1st round pick 2025.

Since Habs won't make won't make the playoffs next season 24-25, if Armia and Dvorak are health, I would trade them for 2nd or 3rd round picks in 2025. And then I would trade also trade both of these picks for 1 pick in 1st round if possible.

Can you just imagine if Habs would have 4 first round picks in 2025?
Habs would be set for the a very long time with great talent…
