It’s not smoke. It’s fire at this point. I mentioned it before calling it that Cutter Gauthier would never play here. Something is obviously wrong in the evaluation and developing of talent somewhere in our pipeline.

Hopefully he ends up in the right place for him, either adjusting and finding a certain level of comfort in North America or returning to the homeland he wants to be in. But he is under contract so that makes it weird. If Michkov was released from his contract on compassionate grounds, maybe it would be a way to stay in the good graces of the KHL to do the same for Kolosov (although they played for different clubs).

Worth noting the Flyers can loan him and even if they terminate his contract they have his rights forever.
Also should note he’s a 22 year old who never played for a team outside his home city in a culture radically different from his own without a lot of help.
If he goes back to the K this isn’t the end of the world and it may not even be the end of him with the Flyers.
