WE NOW KNOW WHY THE BOSTON BRUINS SIGNED NIKITA ZADOROV TO THAT HUGE CONTRACT… (Former Canucks News)

[Music] Lego man why don’t you just shut up and talking about all these Boston Bruins guys they’re not Vancouver guys anymore you got to stop making videos about them it’s coming off as salty okay I get it like there is a very common sentiment that could be shared about our repeated videos on former Vancouver kxs that happen to be in the Boston Bruins now but B B off of the comments section and the views it seems like y’all are digging these kinds of talks and this one’s not going to be super negative like I know last time we had talked about Elias lindome it was not very good the other time we had talked about Elias lindome as well it was also not good we’ve been making these sort of like negatively charged videos about Elias Lindholm but when it comes to the other guy that the Vancouver kxs lost out on in 2024’s offseason that is now on on the Boston Bruins I wanted to have a very interesting conversation on Nikita zadorov because when it comes to the reason as to why he might have signed that huge contract okay maybe not the reason he signed that contract but the reason why the Bruin signed him to that huge contract when it comes to that reason I think it’s sort of opening the door to more possibilities than we could have imagined so just in case you needed to scoop here Nikita zadorov has been signed by the Boston Bruins to a 6-year $5 million aav contract and for the most part Canucks fans could say thank goodness the Canucks did not sign him to that deal it’s a pretty long-term contract for a guy who has been a third pairing defenseman for most of his career he’s 29 years old right now so it takes him till he’s 35 and whether or not he is worth a $5 million aav price tag playing in the middle a bottom four of the Vancouver Canucks Decor that remains to be seen but I think a lot of Canucks fans would pretty much say it’s not worth it now it’s not that Nikita is a dorv is not a good player I mean we saw in the playoffs that he absolutely came alive but the problem with that is that he was so good that he raised his stock so much that he ended up pricing himself out of Vancouver because of that performance and even if you wanted to say that Nikita zadorov at his Peak is him he is that goalscoring physical Puck moving Puck rushing dman who can find ways to create offense that you just don’t expect is he really capable of doing that for 82 games in a calendar year we had seen the Vancouver Canucks play the good chunk of the past season with Nikita zadorov and he was nowhere near as effective as he was in the playoffs that’s not a shot at him it’s just kind of how it was hey he was a lot better in the postseason than he was in the regular season because everybody had their eyes on those playoff games a g against Nashville and against Edmonton zidor Rob’s price tag went up and up and up now when it comes to that dollar amount that’s a big deal when it comes to that contract length also a big deal it’s not easy to go out there and say that Nikita zadorov on the Vancouver Canucks would have been worth that kind of money for that kind of term but if you think about the Boston Bruins this is where things come to play Boston Bruins on clns went out there and tweeted this it’s a quote from Mick kagio who made an appearance on the hacks with hags Puck with hags podcast and the quote from Twitter goes out there and says this it screams to me that the Boston Bruins have a guy here that they’re probably going to play with Charlie McAvoy M kagio discusses the Bruins Nikita’s Adora signing and how it might relate to the significant goalie change and so with this in mind I wanted to talk about why it is quote unquote Boston decided to go with this deal because if you think about it on paper just remove the player remove the profile think about just the idea for a sec if you have yourselves a top pairing guy who is playing with your absolute superstar in Charlie McAvoy and this top pairing left-handed guy is making $5 million a year for 6 years you’re probably thinking that for a first pairing player that’s not that bad of a contract in fact it could very well be seen as good depending on how good he is but for Nikita zadorov oo that’s a big beefy deal and a big beefy rooll for a guy who in Vancouver was playing middle to bottom pairing minutes I’m not saying that I’m a total non-believer in Nikita zor’s ability to play 20 plus minutes a night or to play with players that are good like Charlie McAvoy but I am saying he’s not used to that in Vancouver he didn’t play with anybody who was at that caliber of skill and you could say okay well if he’s playing with somebody who is better like Charlie makoy then would that not be good for him like he’ll be getting points he’ll be able to cash in on that and if he’s able to get a few pointers from oric makoy then that helps everybody out right but at the same time if zadorov is playing with makavo then he’s getting all the tough matchups he’s getting the other team’s top power plays he’s getting the other team’s top lines and he’s getting less time to rest Nikita zadorov is a physical Beast yeah he goes out there and hits guys and he loves to rush the puckup himself but if he’s playing like 25% more ice time per game stack that up over 82 games in a regular season you have to start questioning where is he going to go at the end of that year how does he feel in fact he played pretty me so so with the Vancouver Canucks in the regular season already last year so how is he going to play if he gets a little bit more of that in the regular season this year that’s not even like fully disregarding how good he was in the playoffs it’s just hey Nikita zorov in a regular season was not that good so ultimately you have to think if he gets played with Charlie makoy okay it makes sense he’s a left-handed guy makavo is a right-handed guy you keep Carlo and hampus lindol in the second pairing or something it works out perfectly fine and the money seems appropriate too but you really have to start questioning is the dorov good enough to really do that I would argue no and if the Boston Bruins really think that zadorov is going to be that guy then okay all the power to you I want to see this guy go out there and play 24 minutes a night and look great still score a goal every two games and have really nice assists and hits and big plays where he skates the puckup and sets guys up in front like he is still capable of doing that but I question the athletic ability of Nikita zorov to be able to keep up with that kind of a workload on a top pair with Charlie makoy if he plays middle the bot 4 minutes and okay like he’ll be a lot better to do those types of things especially when the playoffs come around but if you give this guy firstline pairing minutes I don’t know if he’s able to do it so let me know your thoughts in the comment section below if you’re a Vancouver conu fan I have a question as well not just about Nikita zadorov but about me am I just being a Boston Bruins hater is this just me and my subconscious hatred for the Bruins that had started up in 2011 and subliminally subconsciously bringing up all that hurt and Trauma into these videos here is this a lot more of a reasonable conversation to have than the Elias lindome stuff that we have been talking about over the past few weeks as well how well are the Boston Bruins going to be with these players at their payroll because that’s it man they’re going to be on the payroll for a long time and Vancouver fans are going to have the luxury of looking from afar and seeing how those contracts age out so when it comes to lindol when it comes to zadorov when it comes to the Boston Bruins let me know your thoughts in the comments section how well do you think zadorov is going to be able to play in some sort of a top four top two even role if he’s played alongside of Charlie makoy for the entire year where does that go is he able to keep up if not how long does he last in the first pairing let me know your thoughts in the comment section below I hope you enjoyed this v9 and bye [Music] a [Music]

  1. Bruins fan here for 45+ years. I like your videos a lot. My take- there are 2 things you don’t question the bruins on: goaltending and defensemen. They scout and develop d-men better than anybody. Forwards not so much.

  2. The Bruins are an aging team. They should bring in young blood, not Zadorov a year removed from 30.

  3. Yeah cuz the Canucks can’t keep the players they should and hold onto the ones they shouldn’t

  4. Maybe as a top spot he might flourish giving him a role like this might boost his confidence which could boost his level of play as a Canuck fan I hope he turns out to be a top dman because he’s awesome

  5. Why does this video need to be made? Are you butt hurt that Big Z didn't sign for the Canucks? This video is second hard embarrassment 😂
