  1. i like this trade, didnt give up much really and it gives them time to sign him before monday then that frees up time to go get a Zadorov which i like him to, that alone with the D they have now THIS WILL BE THE BEST DEFENSE I'VE SEEN SINCE SALMING / Turnbull was with the Leafs, then get a Goalie.

  2. Zadorov is overrated and is overpriced due to a good playoff showing. NO to going after Z , and great move to land Tanev. adding Pesce would be perfect to round out the D.

  3. The Leafs are trying to get to Tanev before they have to get into a bidding war. That's what i see anyway.

  4. They 7 yrs leafs make big mistake waste of money guy going to be 35 leafs are desperate 3yrs last 4 litr robidas island

  5. Smart move by Treliving. Maybe 3.5 x 7, that's about 24M total. On open market he might get 5.5M x 4 for 22 M total. This move gives the Leafs first Dibs on him, and we;ll assume some talk has already happened. Leafs are not going to do this move, then screw it up. The lower cap hit per year saving is not huge, but might be the difference in signing another player that they either want to keep or obtain.

  6. this sucks..sending out assets to get a broken down d man on the wrong side of 30…my heart hurts..I love the Leafs but they just keep getting worse

  7. Id much rather have Roy from LA or Carrier from Nsh, or even Pesce (not my 1st choice)…damn even Trouba is better than Tanev…at his current state..in his prime? then we can talk

  8. Spreading it out makes sense if it’s around 3.5mil and the one or two million less they save can be invested and can double that money also so it’s a win win. No skinner

  9. I’ve been arguing we should do this kind of long term move with mid 30s players who have at least 3-4 good years left in them. Very down for this. I’d look at other similar options too. The way I see it, we have a 4 year window to win, Tanev can be a huge part of that. Front load the deal and he won’t be expensive to get rid of on the other side if he can’t be LTIR’d

  10. Players don't go from 3 or 4 years at 5 million to 6 or 7 for 3 million,, that's too big of a drop pre year, in the end you make the same just over a longer period

  11. hes a monster , i am so stoked to see him play on the leafs, the long term will also help with tax purpose for the leafs as well, as per Tre

  12. Keep doing what you're doing here.
I think you're doing an awesome job
I appreciate the time and energy it take to do this. That being said I thank you
    Go leafs

  13. Sign him to a 7 year deal with a full no move clause because he is exactly the guy the Leafs need…. and then in 3 or 4 years, when it doesn't work out, they won't be able to trade him BECAUSE THEY GAVE HIM A FULL NO MOVE DEAL….. sound familiar? Tavares and Marner…

  14. thanks for the videos. You don't have to apologize to the idiots who don't have anything better to do than throw shade your way. Keep up the good work. Hope they sign Zadorov so we all can collectively flip Calgary the bird!

  15. I'd rather sign Tanev for a 7 year deal at $3-3.5M and deal with the 4th-7th years later, rather than a 2 or 3 year contract at $4M or $4.5M/AAV. We can always burying the contract on year 4 of the contract. This is why the Leafs employ Brandon Pridham, notable NHL cap-magician!

  16. And now with Montour becoming available maybe the leafs will let everyone else throw big money at him and zadanov and they will quietly grab Matt Roy while others are busy
