Recently discovered your podcast, I enjoy and appreciate it. Question, why isn't anyone talking about Copley in net? Kings resigned him didn't they?
A has no more excuses for this next season. Elite star status is if he has 90 points.
60-70-80 points is sub elite.
The jury is out if he is the real deal or a dud. His weakness is glaring which is that he out of position in offensive situations where he can’t create a goal or an assist for himself. All season long in studying his ice movement, he isn’t clicking and in synch with his line mates. He is off in space and seemingly confused or indecisive what and how to pass or receive a pass and execute high quality shots. If he can finally get rolling with good coordination with his line-mates, then great. He needs to prove that with no excuses.

The contract could be worse. I’m ambivalent. Byfield is not the top center this team can build around to win a cup. If Byfield gets better and reaches his potential very soon (he is super young so I’m being harsh) then he can be a top 2nd line center in the league. But Edmonton has the best second line center and Byfield is miles away from him.
Byfield to center it he obvious move. It's his natural position and there is nobody for that 2C/3C slot now that PLD is gone. Lizotte (thanks for the memories, but he's no 3rd line center) is also gone. I think Danault's line is going to have the same even strength TOI as QB's and Kopi isn't getting any younger and needs to drop down to 18+ minutes of TOI. It's how Boston kept Bergeron peak for so many years. QB and Fiala could be electric together. Just don't add Lewis to that line…

Ive never seen why Kaliev is in the Bigs. Hard shot, no aim, and nothing else. Wish the guy well.
