@Vancouver Canucks

The Canucks just got an absolute STEAL with this player….

The Vancouver Canucks have signed forward Daniel Sprong in NHL Free Agency 2024 after signing Jake DeBrusk, Danton Heinen and Kieffer Sherwood. They lost out on Nikita Zadorov and Elias Lindholm but I feel like the Canucks forward core is looking very deep now, what do you think about this Canucks move?

  1. I’m honestly really looking forward to seeing how Vancouver does this year with all these new players

  2. Van forward depth is honestly one of if not the best in the nhl if the chemistry works out. I'm more worried on the D core being below average

  3. From what I can tell, he's basically a poor man's Kuzmenko, but maybe Tocchet can get a better 2 way game out of him. His offence for his TOI is pretty good, but I've heard he's a defensive liability. If that's the case, we can either flip him for a late pick or worst care bury him in Abbotsford and save the cap.

  4. very little risk one year and low cap hit. he is a piece they can probably turn at the deadline as well if they want to. Lots of good potential and he can probably play up the line up if injuries occur Nice signing.

  5. Awesome video, I wonder if this means there is an incoming trade involving a fwd? Garland, Potkozan? Too many fwds.

  6. They did it again. Their signature move. Offer undervalued players more ice, and the opportunity to play higher in the lineup. They sign short term to prove their value in hopes of scoring a bigger better contract. Great score for us!

  7. Sprong plays like kuzy in the o zone and defensive zone lol I would say top line speed he has an advantage over kuzy but both are similar players. Hopefully tocc can round out his d game

  8. Canucks best off season move has been not signing Guentzel. Canucks got DeBrusk Forbort Sherwood and Sprong for what it would have cost to sign Guentzel

  9. All of the Canuck signings SINCE Elias Pettersson have been amazing. Unfortunately for the Canucks, they overpaid EP by 3.6 million. He should not be making more than Quinn Hughes and J.T. Miller. Had the Canucks signed EP for 9 million, it would be "fair" since Miller and Hughes both signed their contracts earlier. The 11.6 is a MASSIVE overpay and could have been used to bring in another top-4 d-man. What a joke EP has been. He's the next OEL.

  10. I don't know why guys are so excited about this? Yes great value contract but he's not a Tocchet guy and this is like his 6th team in like 8 years. Doesn't that tell you something about him? LMAO.

  11. This is a textbook Ruthlessford roster and to now make this gem while technically still being able to sign a cheap Dman is beautiful.

  12. Be careful with your expectations. This will be Sprong's 6th team since 2018. Daniel has never endeared himself to coaches since he's never found a defensive system to which he is compatible. Poor at D and allergic to the physical game, but at least the contract is totally buriable in the AHL. He'll definitely clear waivers if necessary since he's been available for trade basically his entire career.

  13. Émilie Castonguay has been a beast with negotiating all of these characters for the Canucks as an AGM. I’m so glad she got extended in her position because it seems like now we’re really able to see her skills shine working with Allvin. Looks like the management group has connected really well, just like the team has.

  14. Canucks have signed depth pieces that can score. Sprong 1 year at 975k, if the Canucks aren’t where they need to be he will be a very easy piece to sell off for some picks. A few depth scoring pieces at 40-70 points a piece. The money bill approach, and I love it
