As a Flyers fan, I don’t know what to make of this, but I certainly hope the Flyers don’t MAKE it a big deal if it really isn’t one.
As a flyers fan I don’t want to see him get hurt in any capacity, let alone playing in a pick up tournament. If he made it through healthy, didn’t miss any mandatory team activities, and will be ready for camp, I say pull him aside and have the conversation. Let him know he has to have clearance for these type of things. Just don’t make it a big deal and run the kid out of town.
And so it begins. Get ready for a lot of headaches with this player Philly fans.
The issue is the headaches he causes to management. He hasn't proved anything in the NHL yet, he acts like he is Ovechkin post-cup, co-calling the shots in Washington. This maybe not be a big deal in terms of breach, but just the overall lack of transparency is problematic. If he was in Montreal, Kent Hughes would have grown a full set of gray hairs by the end of 2025.
