IMO the flood is what ruined the saddledome.
As far as doing what you want a stadium to do both McMahon and the dome do what you need to do: get large amounts of people into a building. Have a decent amount of facilities for the washrooms, allow for decent sight lines, and facilitate large amounts of people exiting swiftly.
Both of these stadiums do this.
Sure they aren’t “sexy” or modern or have the amenities of some of the newer stadiums but people will come to lament these losses when the prices being charged at the games for the same services skyrocket. The prices at Roger’s place in Edmonton are ludicrous.
Luckily I don’t rely on concessions for the games. Malts and pocket dawgs are my indulgence and I can hold my bladder till the end of the game because I’m not packing away the dome foams.

How many people honestly care about the Stamps, honestly to justify the cost of a new arena? I suspect no where near the necessary amount to garner city/provincial/federal government funds but just a hunch

Only way we get a new football stadium is if we get the olympics again. The stamps rent the stadium from UofC so why would they want to build a new one when they only pay like 1.5mil a year to use it
