  1. Also what you Sky F1 seem to forget, is Lando has been at McLaren for 5 years, Oscar was a rookie last year and half way through his second, and the team has given him a directive he just goes about it with out carrying on like a spoiled bratt

  2. Oscar lost control of his car and went off the track TWICE, which cost him a total of 5 – 6 seconds.

Lando didn’t make any mistakes during the race.

You don’t deserve to win a race just because you overtake your teammate at the first corner, especially if you go off track twice.

  3. The championship is on, they should tell Oscar to move over and let Lando through in all future races.

  4. Simple way to get rid of the 'controversy' and needless discussions over radio – ban team orders altogether.

  5. Way I see it is this:

Over the short medium and long term a pumped Piastri will provide a continuous boost to McLaren.
    But…
If the team are serious about BOTH 2024 championships they need to get behind Lando in the drivers from Spa onwards.

  6. how the hell have they set up a studio that looks worse than a zoom call hahaha. Why are they sat in the dark?

  7. It should come as no surprise that Max should be at the top of topics. He has time and again over and over shown that he is an entitled petulant child who abuses anyone and everyone around him when things don't go his way. The coddling of this outrageous behaviour by Jos, Christian and Helmut is stunning and only perpetuates "throwing out all the toys out of the pram temper tantrums " . You would never ever allow a young person to emulate any of his antics. he is no doubt a great talented driver, but that does not excuse him of being an abusive person for millions of fans to experience. the entitlement coming from Max is staggering and viewers are subjected to this horrible treatment of his fellow colleagues. He denigrates a great sport and will never be a beacon for kids to look up to or be inspired by.

  8. There was no "controversy" Team orders exist in almost every race. For example, why aren't Sky talking about Lance refusing to give position back to Fernando, this weekend?
No controversy, just Sky being sensationalist as always.
Same with Max's Team radio…..All drivers get snappy with their RE, but F1tv and SkyF1 only choose to broadcast Max! Max does go further than most over the radio, but it the broadcasters that create a sensational narrative to propagate views. Liberty are responsible for much this, but you can't really blame them for wanting to attract viewers
My point is (predominantly for the newer fans) don't fall into the trap of believing the hype, nothing out of the ordinary happened in Hungary.

  9. the way they gave lando the winning strategy then… changed there mind? and then emotionally manipulated him to give it up after mclaren strategy made the mistake not him. it was not oscars or landos fault so stop playing him as the villan andrea stella.

  10. Man, I hate Sky commentating. It's so blatantly partisan it's galling if you're not British. Cannot stand the ridiculous narratives they like to push, how nakedly hostile they are towards Verstappen while licking the British driver's boots… Just be professional and impartial guys. Why is that so hard?

  11. If Lando loses the Championship by 7 points, he will get slandered as not being ruthless (like a Schumacher, Vettel, Verstappen) and trophyless when really it's McLaren leadership who have let him down massively. They clearly don't think he's going to win the title, or the clear No1 driver at the team.

  12. How ironic this title is. Mclaren needs to be more ruthless but yet the most ruthless driver on the grid faces the harshest criticism of the sky f1 team 😂

  13. McLaren should be putting the pressure on Red Bull as much as possible. Force Red Bull and Max into more mistakes.

  14. It's clear that Mclaren should have boxed Oscar first, in truth I think Lando would have caught him on track and then overtaken him. Drama over..

It's also funny that the outcome is that Lewis could have avoided the shunt with Max. He was in front and why should he be taking avoiding action to move over from an out of control Red Bull. This was typical Max behaviour to try to bully his way through regardless of the consequences. If you try a dive bomb then you best have your car under control, don't blame the other driver if you lock up and lose control. Ultimately he was left with enough space and Lewis is entitled to take the corner as well, he can't just keep driving straight off the track.

Max also needs to get more sleep the night before, this clearly affected his mood and the radio outbursts.

  15. Once and if, McLaren secured the constructors championship, then they might make team orders a thing. Only if Lando keeps up to Max. Big ask, though.

  16. Lando needs to drop the funny character n b more ruthless with his ways McLaren are holding him back if he wants a world championship

  17. I dont think Lando was a team player in this scenario, however I undertstand the issue at hand was not his fault and put him in a difficult decision.

  18. More ruthless than that? They bullied and blackmailed Lando openly and humiliated Oscar. How much more…

  19. Stella or brown should of got straight on the radio will Joseph adds a paragraph to everything.

  20. Blown way out of proportion so we don’t hone in on RBs drop off in pace and the way Max speaks to his employer and employees, McLaren still got a 1-2 and you can’t get better than that, the team don’t care about WDC if they’re fighting for a WCC

  21. With all respect to Lando.. within 12 months Oscar is quite likely going to surpass him and become McLaren’s no1 driver.

The kid is crushing it, is calm, cool and fast and very soon will be taking poles time and time again.

Lando has made a number of mistakes over the last few years and also the number of 2nd places finishes, his headspace just doesn’t seem like he’s going to become a ruthless champion
Oscar on the other hand is an F3 and F2 champion who mocked Alpine before he even got into F1 and now has a spring and a race win.

  22. McLaren put Lando in the worst possible position. He had a software glitch which lost him the lead, they box him as soon as Oscar made a mistake and it looked like Lando got too close, after the undercut if he gave the position back he wouldn’t have been allowed to race Oscar, so instead they emotionally blackmailed him lap after lap until they threatened not to support him in the future if he kept the lead. At the end of the day, he had to give up 6 seconds because his slower teammate just couldn’t catch him and gift another driver a win. Yet people will paint him the villain.

  23. If Norris accepts this humiliation and betrayal he will never be a champion and he might never win a race again. He should look for other options than McLaren.

  24. Hamilton at Abu Dhabi 2016 was by far tone of the biggest example of being unsportmanslike over team radio while also disobeying team orders we've ever seen. (Along with a massive strop/ arguing with his engineer and refusing to listen to his team.).

Add on trying to cost his team mate the championship.

So we know he does not respect team orders, tries to muck up his team mate, argues with his engineer & ultimately is willing to put himself first for a championship win like the others.

How is no one even mentioning this ever! It's genuinely unbelievable

  25. One thing most of you forget is that McLaren is in F1 to WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS! They’re not in F1 to feed the egos of drivers.

In other words, McLaren (or any other team)’s priority should be to win a championship or both where possible.

The team is in the hunt for the constructor’s championship. Norris should be in the hunt for the driver’s championship (if McLaren know what they’re doing). Piastri isn’t even in the top 3! So why on Earth will any right thinking team manager let him keep first place (especially when the team is in position for a 1,2)?

That Piastri was allowed to take the lead from Norris at the start of the race was bad enough. It showed a team that didn’t have their priorities right. Luckily, Norris was able to beat Piastri at the pit stops. That conveniently sorted out the lap 1 mess for the team. Why would they even think of having Norris give up P1 and the win with the extra 7 points that comes with it simply because they needed to keep Piastri happy? I mean, who runs this team?

At the end of the season, I hope McLaren won’t regret the 8 points they have made Norris lose to Piastri because it will be ridiculously unfortunate.

I mean, I see people here saying “Piastri deserved the win”. What win? When Norris was faster in the end? When Norris is P2 in the standings ? I actually blame Norris for yielding to their inane requests and instructions.

What nonsense! Are we even following the same sport? “Piastri deserved the win “? What sort of people are we having follow F1 today? SMH.
