I feel like a broken record. Demidov is the only U20 player on the SKA roster, and KHL teams have two totally free “bonus” roster spots for U20 players. The Kuznetsov signing has no effect on Ivan’s spot at all. So the notion that SKA wouldn’t keep a player they like on the team because his contract is expiring was always pretty silly IMO.
NO RUSH for the rebuild nor to bring Demidov early.
HABS management have a plan and they're sticking to it thankfully! 👍
As long as he continue to develop, i have no problem to wait one year before we see him in a habs jersey. I just hope he will get icetime and powerplay.

He’s only 18 he was unlikely to contribute in a major way this year. Let him simmer real good and get him with the team next year. We’ll be watching highlights in the meantime.
Let him cook in KHL, keep the rookie spot for someone else’s audition in MTL or Laval
One more season until he arrives gives the team an opening/opportunity for a young prospect to see if they are part of the long-term plan. As long as SK is planning to give him quality ice time/development I have no issue waiting.

I can see a world where the Habs are purposely developing a relationship with SKA. That could turn into a 2-way street where Habs prospects who won't quite make the NHL, and SKA is getting to talk to the prospects agents before they go to Europe. In return Bobrov gets access to their scouting reports 😉
I love how the Habs keep icing the smallest teams in the NHL, the smallest goal scorers, then are shocked they suck offensively lol. Gee I wonder why?
