Newly acquired-center could have a future with the Blues.

I thought his ceiling was much higher than this article leads on, 12g 30a as a “flash in the pan?” Sunny as a better replacement? Love Sunny, so say we all, that’s not a high bar. Sounds like he’s competing for replacement-level 4th line duties, with a defensive upside.

If there hadn’t been an about the author signature I would’ve guessed that was an AI generated article.

“If Texier wants a future with the Blues, he needs to continue to develop as a player and build on past success. Doing so will keep him on the Blues radar. If Texier cannot take care of his own business, then that will guarantee he does not have a place in the Blues future.”

What an insightful piece of writing… If player does good job he keeps job, if player does bad he loses job… 🤦

Also, saying Barbie is a true two-way forward but Buchnevich isn’t is a bit disingenuous.

    It’s been a long off-season.

All jokes aside, Texier is the most exciting new addition for me. He’s still relatively young and had personal issues derail his development a bit. Columbus fans were a little disappointed in the trade as they thought he had more to offer. Seems like a great 3rd line option whether it be at wing or center; he can’t be worse than Blais/Vrana/Kapanen/Hayes were last year.

I’m somewhat excited about him but I’ve also seen him try some pretty flashy stuff too which is great, but if it doesn’t work fans are going to jump on him pretty quick.

Not a well written article OP for a number of reasons:

    * Texier production last year was in line with his production the year before. In fact it was less ppg and gpg.
    * We have a couple true 2-way forwards such as Buch and Thomas. Schenn is falling off unfortunately but was one of the best at it
    * Blues have more centers than space. Not factoring in Dvorsky is disingenuous. If he isn’t in the lineup this year, he is almost certainly making it opening night next year
    * To go off the above point, not factoring in Dean who’s also a center and in the future plans is disingenuous. In fact not mentioning any of our top prospects including Bolduc and Snugs who both are big pieces in the future plans and take priority over Texier
    * Blues are absolutely trying to contend this year. They didn’t make flashy moves but they added a lot of depth. Make no mistake they’re trying to compete and will definitely expect to contend next year with Dvorsky and Snugs in the lineup for 82 games
    * Also there’s grammatical errors fyi

If he contributes 15 goals a season and becomes a good faceoff man, he will likely be a #2 or#3 C for us. That would be excellent IMO.
