Personally, I wanted to love him but he just didn’t hit the same once he got to MSG. Short lived as well. Thanks for 2014 tho

A big part in the culture shift from bubble team to contender.

  3. JuggernautOk3707

I rarely think about him, but no bad feelings, much respect

I liked him, but he was a classic Sather signing. Good player, but we got him a few years too late and for too much money.

I’ll never forget the game against PHX that he won with .2 left in regulation.

Unspectacular, declined quickly, but overall was a positive contributor that helped the Rangers move into contender status

Never made a bad play, never made a good play either.

Underwhelming to say the least. Had a couple decent years. But we signed him past his prime and for too much money. Ultimately no cup so 🤷‍♂️

Drop passes after achieving a zone entry. Over and over and over and over

wont forget the winter classic or the tying goal against the caps, but thats about it.

Liked him, but remember telling my Rangers friend circle that summer it would end up being a bad contract and here we are lol

Never liked him as a player. Thought he was always over rated. Came to NY on the downside of his career and we know how that turns out every time. This team never learns. Quick is the only guy I can think of who has been the exception

He was a solid Ranger but wasn’t the 1C they paid him to be. Good amount of fond memories of him here, but luckily they were able to buy him out thanks to the freebie compliance buyouts…

Contract wise, his deal would’ve been up after the 2018-19 season… he was retired for 3 years by that point, so that’s a win for us lol.

  14. I really liked him, I think he got a bad rap because of his contract. He was more productive in his ‘bad’ years then he got credit for and he always was a strong faceoff guy. Beyond that, he was a leader and the team became an elite contender the day he signed. It’s no surprise he was signed by a championship team after he left.

Solid , but I am to this day a Brian Boyle Stan

Anytime I see this dude I just think of that awful nude sports illustrated bodies photo shoot where he looks like the fuckin thing that the 300 guys kick down the mountain.

He had some really great moments, but lost his legs. We affectionately referred to him in our house as “Bad” Richards.

  18. Scored the OT winner at my first ranger game as a kid. He’ll always have a place in my heart for my favorite ranger players of all time.

Famous for bad angle shots in the corner behind the goal line, excruciating slow line change when getting off and not being in shape after the lockout when the team was primed to do damage in the playoffs. Overpaid, overrated, not a leader.
