  1. Would be a great low risk addition for the Habs without having to give up any high end assets. Laine would slot in nicely on the 2nd line next to Dach.

  2. he wont go to the Habs. nobody wants to play in this god forsaken country and lose half their wages like we do. Maybe when they adapt hockey into India then we may have a chance of getting a good pick up.

  3. I'm a Jets fan in Winnipeg. I would very much welcome a return of Laine.

I think a deal would look something like: McGoraty + Iafallo for Laine + Jiricek. May not be exact, but a rough outline. Also, it depends on how much money CBJ is retaining, if any.

  4. State them sources! When did the ducks say they’d consider trading zegras? Or do you mean GMPVs comment saying Wayne Gretzky was traded meaning anyone can be traded? That’s not a source man. 🤦 all these zegras rumors and outlets speaking on them are just made up for comments. And you regurgitate them to get my comment. Kudos to you!

  5. Am i the only one that wont miss Marek at all? Always interrupted his guests. His question format was repetitive and annoying as hell where he would ask a simple question, then explain it in depth, then ask it again in a diffetent way.

Sportsnet would probably be on the upswing if it wasnt for the dinosaur Ron Maclean. He is boring and commands the direction of the show. He needs to go

  6. Great report Mike!
    Re: Laine to Habs:
    1. CBJ would definitely have to eat a big chunk of his salary for Habs (or any team) to take a risk on the player. He's a HUGE risk.
    2. If….and it's a BIG IF….Laine can revive his game he'd be worth a 1-2 year reasonable contract with salary retained.
    3. Habs have ample prospects & picks to sweeten the deal if they desire to go after Laine.
    4. If he tanks….you haven't lost much in the grand scheme of things.
    5. Damn….seems like eons ago when Laine said he deserved to be the #1 pick and that he was better than Austen Matthews….ouch Patty ouch!!!
I think he still has some productive years left in the right situation but teams need to know exactly what they are getting….a pure scorer who has never learned how to play a defensive game. Bottom line: he's a risk.

  7. Cut the crap Laine good fit in Montreal. He is top 6 here and can put his career back on track.

  8. Sports fans typically don't like woke identity politics crammed down their throats. Sports is supposed to be an escape from the circus of normal life. This is why Sportsnet is many hockey fans last choice for hockey content.

  9. Laine won't ever be high level again. he could still be a somewhat valuable 25-30 goal scorer…needs to work on his defense. But he's no superstar any longer. his next deal would probably be a 6.5 million per year….

  10. Laine and a pick to Canes for Necas makes more sense. He would return to play with Aho with 50 percent of salary retained. Necas gets to play top line and reunite with Don Waddell.

  11. Love to have Laine on the Habs! He is an awesome offensive dynamo. He’d probably the best we’ve had in a long long time. If he’s got his head on straight and gets lucky to say injury free he would definitely get his 4th 30 goal season with the Habs maybe even 40 or 50. Worth the risk if the price is right.

  12. Both Sportsnet and TSN are unbeatable to watch. I prefer the American broadcasts. They just deal with the game rather than the Canadian style of being social justice warriors trying to stuff their woke agenda into every game.

  13. Laine needs powerplay time and a good setup man to be successful. The most logical team are the Caps

  14. For MTL to take on Laine it must be a buy low sell high situation. The Blue Jackets are in no situation to ask for a lot to move Laine, so they will need to take on a contract and a young player. Baron and Dvo or Harris with some salary retention.

  15. Habs should sent Anderson back to Columbus straight up for Laine. Pretty much offsets the cap issue.
