Sorokin is the only guy performing. He is the only reason we even have a chance at making the playoffs.
Islanders r letting me down as my preseason sleeper pick in the east. Plot twist very few big pieces r miving at the deadline free agency gonna be interesting across the league but i dont see any massive trades involving kane, toews, oreilly, tarasenko, meier, horvat, Karlsson happening at the deadline a randin gut feeling i have rn. If 1 big guy moves its cause 2 or more were involved in that move. I feel the islanders situation is why there wont be big trades this deadline and that'll be the headline i hope in wrong, i wanna see a crazy deadline
Islanders arnt a threat on on pp n the wild arnt a threat 5 on 5 🤣 the PAIN is real rn. If u didnt get to see the wild flyers game thursday go to 10min mark in 1st period, it got nuts. Was a 4th really a 3rd 1 early in the 2nd think 3mins in. Old school fight night. I think islanders r 2 far away moves wise. Too many moves away. Where my wild r 1 or 2 moves away but they have to play the way they did thursday every night. Islanders r really letting me down but not as bad as the canucks r as my other sleeper pick i had
How many 1 more yrs can the islanders fans take
Isles should acquire a young scorer to play with Barzal. They gave him a monster contract and have not given him the finisher that would benefit from playing with him. In addition, that younger, fast scorer would help the anemic pp because the Isles don't have that shoot first mentality. I'd deal a pick and prospect for that winger because it would help the team in many ways long term. But all of this is pointless speculation because Lou isn't doing a thing but nap at the deadline.
I agree with a lot of your points. I'm not sure Wahlstrom is $6m x 6, based on what he's produced. He might be more of a $3 x 2 on a bridge and then re-evaluate after that.
I do like Bolduc, too.
Mayfield is one I like, but agree he could easily be moved as an attractive addition to a playoff ready team. I think he could get you a 2nd rd pick from a playoff team.
Absolutely move on from Wilde. That's too bad how his time has played out since Covid started. I think mgmt. saw him as Mayfield's replacement as 3rd pair right d (not same style of game as Mayfield) for next season.
What do you think happens with Lane Lambert, PP coach, Lou?
Losing Toews was the big blow for sure. To have Pelech, Toews and Bolduc/Aho/Salo as your left side would have been really nice.
Hopefully Romanov further develops his positional play as he is still young, but it sure hurt to lose Toews and his offence.
The injuries to Wahlstrom, Pelech and Palmieri really hurt, not to take anything away from the effort that Fasching, Raty and co. have given. It's just not the same.
I truly feel Bad For You And Islanders Fans who are Favorite Team Fans. I like them 3rd Best, after Rangers & Chicago. I don't know what things that The Islanders can do to Turn Things Around.
O keep goin n lookin at rosters n cap numbers ni wanna say 26 teams cant naje a big move without another big move to counter it or 3+ small moves to open a big move. So much sakary would have to be retained n the ckear cut top teams rn r boston n Carolina. After that u have depending on lets say teams all play their style game, u got toronto if healthy, tampa, avs if healthy, wild, stars, jets, rangers, i dont trust any other teams playing their peak hockey against these teams peak hockey. The wild i talk about a lit cause 1 they're ny team n 2 they r 1 scorer away from being super dangerous when they play their style rn they have kirill, zuccy, boldy and a huge detriment in dumba who u have another name for now. But their goalie pkay has been insane for a month now whike being hungout to dry way too much. At this point the islands r too far behind to make playoffs, but say they miracle it n win 23 more games n get in somehow they r physically built for it but scoring is a massive issue again for them
Personally they need to retool. Make those trades at the deadline, but in the offseason, I'm moving on from Bailey, Beavillier and Palmeri, all have sorely underperformed for most of their Islander careers. I'm tired of an underwhelming roster. If Barzal keeps playing the way he is at the money he just got, I may look to move on from him too. I don't want to hear they haven't brought in a winger to play with him. He can play, he can carry a team, he isn't mature, he takes dumb penalties still, especially late in the game, and seeing him not lighting the lamp as frequently as in the past yes I'd keep an eye on him as well. Time to rock the boat and do the things that are necessary to put the team back on the right path.
Lou must go. He’s the worst GM.
Anything other than selling at the deadline is a huge organizational failure. Lou can’t be trusted to do the right thing. The owners are losers for trusting Lou.
IShkakov is the real deal but Lou is too stupid to see it.
