The Musial Awards™ are an extraordinary event honoring the legacy of Stan Musial by celebrating the greatest moments of sportsmanship in North America. Formerly the National Sportsmanship Awards, the event is now named for the late St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Famer and beloved St. Louis sports icon.
Defined by class, excellence, humility and generosity, Stan the Man embodied the virtues of sportsmanship. So it’s fitting that the most meaningful and inspiring night in sports now bears his name.
The 2016 Musial Awards took place on November 19 at the Peabody Opera House in St. Louis. The awards show spotlighted nine remarkable stories of sportsmanship plus Cal Ripken Jr. receiving the Stan Musial Lifetime Achievement Award and Tamika Catchings, who was honored with the Musial Award for Extraordinary Character.
Proudly continuing a partnership with KSDK-TV NewsChannel 5, the 2016 Musial Awards aired on St. Louis’ NBC affiliate. The broadcast was produced by St. Louis-based BVS Productions in association with the St. Louis Sports Commission and the National Sportsmanship Foundation.
The 2017 Musial Awards will take place Saturday, November 18 at Peabody Opera House in St. Louis. For more information, visit MusialAwards.com.
