Another pointless trade for a below-average veteran player. Not sure what people are happy about, this 30-year old .250 hitter that's going downhill. He had one good season in 2021 and that's it, since then he's horrific. Now he'll take valuable ABs away from McNeill, Martinez, Bader, and prevent a youngster from showcasing their skills. Why does the Mets continue to do this every year?

6 years of Vasil vs 2 months of Winker is a tough move, but I understand it. Vasil looks to have finally been figuring out AAA and will probably be a back end starter in the bigs. If they re-sign Winker it makes sense.

I do not know why people are happy about this. Career. 260 hitter. We need a of hitter that hits .290 or above. We need to grab a real hitter. Not a big deal of a trade.
