  1. For Sid's effort which have just been A+ in these last 3 seasons where they missed the playoffs twice out of 3 by a hair, I hope they do well…considering the last two seasons, the one three years ago where they had to do with their third goalie against the NYR, with Jarry injuring himself (and never quite getting back to the level he was since then) at the end of the season and DeSmith injuring himself 2 minutes into game 1, if it wasn't for a lot of weak goals third goalie Domingue was giving (he did a good job enough for some wins, but when he started going under, especially after NYR tied the series after PIT was leading), it''s been a lot of bad luck more than bad management imo (except for Hextall's deadline trades in march 2023, Granlund and Kulinin (Kunin?, some defensive defenseman with little value or impact when chasing a place in the playoffs), nothing of value was lost when they kept neither after july 1st last year).

One still young first round pick of theirs that could be ready for NHL yet is not talked about Sam Poulin, he's kind of forgotten because of that year off due to mental health in a very bad time for humanity that affected others more than some, but he's been good enough in the AHL to get a promotion and finally show his value. If he becomes the player he's supposed to be, being given full time in the NHL would be now, not later. I say they need help on the wing or a centre who plays wing, young legs are still around, I'd pick Oliver Kylington from the free agents on the cheap, Pittsburgh have always been good (a lot like the Habs) at giving back trust to players who've had a difficult last few years. Kylington was on his way up but Calgary basically seem to want to get rid of everyone, so he's available. The only established 20G winger left in the free agents is Van Riemsdyk and he doesn't correspond to their need, the guy's too old, they could have went with Sprong but that ship has sailed.

I continue to believe, but they have to make some moves in the season and not let it rot if say Rackell or Rust are not on pace to 30 goals as they should be, Rackell especially, can't let it rot for long, before there's too much eyes on him not being as good as he should be, with an A+++ passer in Malkin as his centre. Otherwise he'll end up on the third line, Malkin and Bunting seem to be working very well together, hopeful that continues this season. I'll only stop believing if the team resembles last year Sharks with Crosby,Malkin, Letang and Karlsson staying and counting time, we're not there yet, at all. Go mon Sam, je sais que tu peux percer! Ouais tlm était down pendant la pandémie, même mes amis riches 😉

  2. Fire Dubas but seriously thanks for Granlund and removing that awful karl contract.

It is still insanity to me some fans think that some of the smartest fans could not do a better job than some real GMs and presidents have done.

Dubas, Dorian and even Doug Wilson 5 mins before he traded with Ott for Karl all of them flaunted how a smarter fan could have done better even at the time.

  3. Literally 20 mins after watching this video my mom walked in with a Letang and Fleury jersey she picked up from a garage sale for dead cheap. Im in absolute shock right now lol 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤

  4. I think if the Pens manage to sneak into the playoffs, Alex Nedeljkovic is going to be a huge part of that. People underestimate how good he is as a goalie. I remember seeing him on my local junior team in Niagara and they went all the way to the 2016 OHL finals mainly because of him and his outstanding play. He also won the Calder Cup with the Charlotte Checkers and did really well with the Carolina Hurricanes as a rookie, so I know he has the potential!

  5. Dubas has done well in the offseason. None of the additions can hurt them in the long term. It gives Sid a chance to drag them to the playoffs. They do have a bit of a hole in the top 6 though.

  6. Sid so superstitious he’ll sign his extension in his birth day 8/7 for $8.7 with a 3 year deal I’m feeling.

  7. Just look at the rest of their conference, and aside from Columbus and Montreal, Pittsburgh (and Philadelphia) are the best bets to be competing for a lottery pick.

  8. As is, I don't see them making the playoffs. If Dubas still has a trick up his sleeve and bolsters the top six somehow, maybe they'll have an outside shot. But I don't think this team is a playoff team right now.

  9. Keep the faith pens fans. I'm sure in 2 years, once Bowman has signed Mcdavid and Draisaitl to max cap hit contracts, he'll trade them both to Pittsburgh for Bunting and a 5th with 75% retention, and you'll win another 3 cups in 5 years.

  10. I hate it when the pens re-signed Malkin to that deal. Too long. They could have just found some Journeymen for a third of the price. I expect Malkin gets bought out after next year

  11. Start retool Pittsburgh and Buffalo good trade partners
Crosby to Buffalo they have the assets to trade for him
Thompson, Crosby and Tuck One heck of first line Buffalo 😊😊😊

  12. I thought Malkin would head home to Magnitogorsk when Mozyakin retired but a certain country invaded another certain country. Oh, the war of 1812 🤷

  13. When Dubas signed last year, I felt he was desperate to tear things up. he's still waiting on the green light from management

  14. I really really hate the Pittsburgh Penguins so I hope they miss the Playoffs this year and forever. They don't deserve success, such a terrible fan-base. They have no respect or no class, the fans are terrible and they play a dirty style of hockey.

  15. I really like Bunting. I started following Penguins a bit when he came from Carolina. I hope an entire season in Pittsburgh will go good for him. I think its possible they could sneak into playoffs. It might be a situation like Caps last year where they get in and then get swept. Should be a fun season though.

  16. I don’t understand the Guentzel signing if the Lightning don’t add another Top 6 Forward.
Guentzel and Crosby reunion in TB would be amazing. (Not a Lightning Fan) Just I don’t understand the Lightning signing, losing Stamkos.

  17. Dubas has no choice. The roster's too old but he's forced to build around the older top players which is usually a bad idea, but if he starts a rebuild then he has to pay picks to get rid of Crosby, Malkin, and Letang because they probably don't want to hang around for a rebuild…

  18. Im a Pens fan, this is how the next decade is gonna go
Sid will resign for 3 years, Letangs deal ends in 2028. So Sids will end then, i think Geno probably resigns a 2 year deal to be signed through 2028,
So from 2024-2028 this team will be very mediocre, we will try and compete and we will miss the playoffs by a few points, then in 2028, we will completely tear it down and start a full on rebuild, that will last 4-5 years,
Then we make the playoffs again in 2033-2034,
As for Mike Sullivan, he is a FRAUD, he should have been fired in 2020. However HE IS NEVER GONNA GET FIRED. Ownership really likes him.
This is what i would have done, in 2020 after we get absolutely embarrassed by Montreal, i would have completely burned the team down, except for Sid, then i would have tanked in 2021, 2022, and 2023 if we did that, we could have Owen Power, Logan Cooley and Connor Bedard, as well as Sidney Crosby, if we did that, we would be a playoff team for sure and a Cup contender within the next year,
But they chose nostalgia and thats why we are stuck in mediocrity. This teams ceiling over the next 4 years is getting swept in the first round. Although id be shocked if we even made the playoffs. Im guessing we dont make the playoffs again till 2033 at the earliest. Assuming the rebuild goes well. And with our history of drafting and developing. I think we can do a full blown rebuild in 4-5 years.

  19. My kingdom for them to just commit to the rebuild. Needed to happen two seasons ago, could have been done in time for Crosby to have one more go.

  20. Yeah. Sullivan wont ever be fired, he basically has a lifetime contract, which is stupid. I think Sullivan is a fraud, hasnt won shit since 2018 and refused to adjust his system to best suit the players he has, this old team cant play a speed game,
And Sullivan also hates playing young guys, cause veteran respect. I have become very anti Sullivan in recent years. I think the guy is an absolute fraud, and i dont think he is all that smart either. He said some pretty stupid things in some of his press conferences this past season, he should have been fired in 2020. He has become a real crap coach in recent years. But yeah Coach Fraud isn’t going anywhere

  21. From a Ducks fan, don’t be in a hurry to start a teardown. Riding mediocrity beats being garbage for 6 years with seven ready to dissapoint

  22. Crosby is going to do his best dragging this team to the playoffs. For as much as we hated the pens majority of fans this is sad to see

  23. I said from last off-season that the Karlsson trade was the absolute wrong direction and that they would only get farther from the Playoffs…I feel the same about this upcoming season for Pittsburgh, they're regressing and time isn't their friend. I think they are closer to a draft lottery then a Cup. Saying that funny enough, actually rebuilding by trying to build through the draft would be a excellent decision but that attachment to the past and having Dubas as their GM is killing the Franchise. The fact is their cups are getting closer to being a decade ago and they haven't done ANYTHING of notice since. Crosby is still elite but eventually that will change and everyone else has regressed. Now Guentzel is gone and their depth hasn't really improved…Pittsburgh might currently be the most in trouble Franchise in the entire NHL. Oldest team, not playoff caliber but not bad enough to get high draft picks, bottom 3 prospect pool with no high end talent and a aging core that is/shortly will be overpaid (Besides Crosby) and it seems they are going to only give up more futures in a desperate attempt to hold onto a long gone reality.

  24. Technically since 1987 the playoffs started with a format of the best of seven for 4 rounds and the Pittsburgh Penguins have the most Stanley cups which is 5 , you hockey buffs are dumb students, the penquins are the most successful organization. So too me they destroyed the NHL history because Montreal won cups back when you only had too beat 3 teams in 3 rounds. So hockey nerd let’s talk about teams that never won a cup, don’t worry about the penguins they had their glory.

  25. The thing with Sully is like we know has a good coach and hes done great stuff w the team, but at this point its the team that cant accomplish his style of game really it feels like we dont have the pieces to put up a full game even when Crosby hands us a good game we just throw it away by the end.

People say its time for the Pens to try a new coach but really its time for our coach to find a new team 😭😭

  26. They have a horrible GM so I expect they continue to sink until they completely collapse after Crosby and Malkin retire.

  27. Team should have started rebuilding last year. Instead they traded away much needed assets to take on a Karlsson contract that already sank an entire franchise and added a GM who’s only tactic is sign big name players to huge contracts and hope for the best. I see the penguins bottoming out in the next 2-3 seasons and being in store for a long rebuild.
