When Elliott Friedman tweeted out that Teams can talk with Patrik Laine about a trade there has been countless Trade Rumors about Patrik Laine being Linked to the Montreal Canadiens. The Canadiens are looking to add a top 6 player who can provide offense and Laine can do that. The Columbus Blue Jackets are looking for picks and prospects and the Canadiens have plenty of those.
In this video I discuss Patrik Laine, his stats and past with the Winnipeg Jets and his current team the Columbus Blue Jackets and if the Habs should pay this price for Laine. There is definitely a risk, the past few seasons have not been easy for the scoring winger, but if you put him on a team with Juraj Slafkovsky, Cole Caufield, Nick Suzuki, and possibly Ivan Demidov, can Laine get back to the player he was when he was scoring 30 plus goals.

Nope, don't want him in Montreal. I'd rather Montreal go after Draisaitl since Edmonton needs cap room, picks, and prospects and would be an immediate impact. Montreal already had a charity case in Drouin NOT AGAIN.

They have the cap space and 2 years on top 6 wouldn’t hurt the young players coming up.
If he has a good season he could be a good trade chip for when Demidov is ready to come in.
They have a hole at LW#2, Laine could slide in there with Dach & Newhook or Roy.
