OK Guys, the Montreal Canadiens have signed 23 year old defensemen Arber Xhekaj! To a brand new contract. Valued at 1.3 million dollars per season.. He’s signed for 2 years right now.. and in my opinion it’s a very team friendly contract. Lets chat about it!

Good deal for the Habs, and WiFi still has more to prove before almost any team would sign him to term. If he plays his way up the roster, he'll get the contract he earned next time.

The Sheriff is the real deal. This guy ain't got a lot of hockey under his belts, but you can see that what he brings to the table. And I think he got a lot a room to develop his offensive side, I see him play in Laval and his transition game is very good. He got an heavy shot and like Max Lapierre have said, he is excellent for finding shot line to the net. This gunna be an exciting season

They signed Barron today also, $2.3M for 2 years. When are they gonna lock Laine up? I HATED the idea at first, i thought he will just bring problems, like he has every where else, but if we get him for like a B prospect and a couple later round draft picks, even a 2nd and a 3rd, plus if they retain some of his salary. Why not take the chance, if we get him cheap enough? If he can get back to 40 goals, and then he plays with Demidov next season! Demidov, Dach, and Laine, that's a 2nd line!

Amazing contracts, IMO. II don't think the show-me had as much to do with injuries, as it has to do with the fact both X and Barron, struggled quite a bit last season. What I really like, is that both players agreed to a deal that expires BEFORE they're UFA. That indicates to me that they're eager to stay Habs long-term. And that they'll work very hard to impress. Not even a Habs fan and I think this is a great signing for the team and the player. Team gets to see how his shoulders hold up, can resign him long-term if he can stay healthy. Arber takes a team friendly deal now, uses the next 2 seasons to show his value, and then signs a bigger and longer contract. Smart all around
