Florida Panthers captain Aleksander Sasha Barkov took the Stanley Cup on a tour of his hometown of Tampere, Finland, on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.

Barkov is the first Finnish captain to ever hoist the Stanley Cup.

The Florida Panthers will return to Tampere for a pair of games against the Dallas Stars on Nov. 1-2 at Nokia Arena. Barkov is a part owner of the team that plays there.

On June 24, the Panthers beat the Edmonton Oilers 2-1 in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final.

Florida took a 1-0 lead in the first on a goal from Carter Verhaeghe off a sharp pass from Evan Rodrigues.

Tied at 1 in the second, Dmitry Kulikov swept away the puck from an empty net — and Sam Reinhart scored on the ensuing rush.

The rest was up to the Florida defense which clamped down on the Edmonton offensive — with the help of some stellar goaltending from Sergei Bobrovsky.
