  1. Interesting question: Brett has Australian flag behind him. Nate has American flag. Meagan is wearing her Australian kit and sunny has a flag of his cloths rack behind him !
Which brings me to my question. Ask Sunny this question. Does he wish for a GB swimmer ( that he has not coached ) or a non GB that he has coached. Eg Shiobhan or Chad.
This situation is solved in football. Many national teams employ foreign coaches and they want their own team to win even when facing their own country.
This questions can be asked from university coaches. Eg an American university; they have US as well as foreign swimmers so during their completions they want their college to win. Now when the same swimmers compete internationally it is natural for the coach to go first the swimmer they spend day in day out. What do you think

  2. It’s great to see Irish , Moroccan , Tunisian win long distances. I remember 2008 Olympic 1500m everyone talked about Hackett as if nobody else matters and Mellouli won. Although I enjoyed Mellouli win I felt sorry for the issues surrounding some swimmer who are expected to win. Countries need a team of psychologist to help with health issues and career after swimming. In the old days they found other interest; Shane Gould is still swimming , doing other jobs and interest.
