🏈1984 Topps Football!🏈⚡What Could Have Been! The Best (Almost) Set Ever!⚡

While the 1984 Topps Football set is already a great set, mostly because of the rookie cards of the great quarterbacks that came from the 1983 NFL Draft, it could have been an even better set! Possibly the best football card set ever!

The 1984 Topps Football set could have combined the 1984 Topps Football NFL set with the 1984 Topps USFL set to make the greatest rookie checklist ever for football cards!

This could have had the following rookies all in one set:
– John Elway
– Dan Marino
– Jim Kelly
– Steve Young
– Herschel Walker
– Eric Dickerson
– Curt Warner
– Roger Craig
– Reggie White
– Howie Long
– Jim Covert
– Dwight Stephenson
– Jackie Slater
– Anthony Carter
– Darrell Green
– Morten Andersen

We think you’d agree — no other set would be as great as that combined NFL/USFL 1984 Topps Football set!

Watch this break of a couple packs my wife bought me of 1984 Topps Football where I pull a record-breaking Hall-of-Famer!

  1. My favorite football set is 1962… also love the '57 set but never really thought much of the '84 set. It would have definitely had an argument minus the USFL set.. Still having both Marino and Elway in that set makes it pretty special, just hard to find well centered cards.. ugh!

  2. Great discussion, David, always enjoy hearing you talk about 80’s football. Saw the Dupree 30 for 30, and found it very interesting. Will have to check out the USFL one, that’s a real hole in my resume. And, you’re right, it would have been a killer set, wow! I’ve always wanted the big guys in their USFL rookie cards, but have never made the plunge. Someday. Thanks for sharing!

  3. Ok. I’m going on memory and not looking this one up. Wasn’t Bobby Herbert (sp) one of the replacements during the strike and then stayed on with New Orleans as a regular???
As always my friend FUN VIDEO!!!!
