  1. The best prospect from the Guentzel trade is Ville Koivunen. Ponomarov is a year older and more "NHL ready" at this point in his career, but his ceiling tops out as a bottom 6 forward/center. Whereas Koivunen has a ceiling for a middle-six winger … he likely just needs a season in N.A. in the AHL before playing in the NHL. If you're looking at this season, then yeah … Ponomarov is the guy to watch. Although I'm not how he is going to get a chance with the contracts that Acciari, Eller, Hayes, Lizotte and Beauvillier have. But if you're looking longer-term … the prospect to really watch is Koivunen.
