No way he leaves 35 million on the table to walk lol.

I would not trust a single Russian journalist on any matter, not even hockey. They like to use that shit to thump their chests to show how mighty they are that even hockey players choose them over NHL.
More importantly, Nichuskin has 35 million good reasons to not terminate his contract.

Found the original article, seems like a slow summer on both sides of the Atlantic, it is a case of SKA wouldn’t mind picking up Nichushkin if he became available, and the coach is cited having a good relationship with him. Even the article says they aren’t sure if Colorado would terminate the contract or how they would do it.
What does he have to gain from terminating his contract? Nothing. Why would he? “To be a nice guy”? Come on….

Yeah that’s not happening. Too much money on the table to just walk. Kuznetsov is an entirely different scenario

Not a very smart move. The only way it might happen is if he felt that bad about his impact to the team he goes home to alleviate the team from the issues he’s caused..
But he’s Russian and it’s 35mil on the table with the Avs handcuffed over options. No way this happens

Basically no news and no updates.
Val COULD void his NHL contract. But he could this whole time. Any player can and simply retire from NHL.
Kovi voided his contract to play in KHL which is why this nonsense “article” was written (nothing against OP. I’m glad OP posted it).
Kovi would have $6m to make up over KHL career vs NHL career. And apparently Kovi thinks he can so he wants to be in Russia.
Val would have to make up $35m over a KHL career. And unless he’s permanently banned from NHL, that’s not happening.
KHL said they’re waiting for December to have any possible update. I can only assume this is because Nov timeframe is when Val finds out if he can play this year or not. So December is a few weeks away from that and a good buffer date because of Val is permanently banned, then yeah, he’s playing in KHL.
Most important thing is that Val prefers the Avs to anyone, including KHL. So unless he’s not given a choice, Val isn’t doing what Kovi did and terminate NHL contract.
Damn, my summary is about as long as the actual article 😂 Anyways, no new news, just new speculation made out of thin air. Only related topic is Val and Kovi are both indeed Russians.

I just want to see what MacK, Makar, and Landy think about the dude. Your teammates care about you a lot more than random emotional fans will.
Sure, he’s left the team in some tight situations but he was by no means the only reason we’ve been bounced out of the playoffs the last two years.

Is SKA the only KHL team? Literally any time the KHL are mentioned, it’s related to SKA.
