  1. IMO you’re being too generous to Hughes. He deserves at most a C. Even a C- wouldn’t be out of the question.

  2. I don’t think they needed to do much this off-season, I mean it would help if they shed some of their veterans like Anderson, Gallagher, Armia.. perhaps one of them should’ve been a buyout candidate. But I still think Kent is just doing his due diligence, he wants to take his time to get things right. They’re probably still a few years out until the playoffs. Maybe next season they target free agents. Just think they’re content right now they probably want another good lottery pic next year

  3. A from me. We need one more year, there are 32-36 teams to compete against, this can't be rushed. More internal development. Another top 10 draft pick. Team friendly signings/extensions. More cap space opening up at year's end. We are in great hands finally!

  4. Montreal will have enough guys at training camp to fill two teams, they don't need anymore soldiers yet. Until they figure who makes it out of camp, who stays/goes, there is no need to jump the gun with needless signings. Their window will not open for at least two more years, if things go well. That's when you can bitch at them for not making any acquisitions to improve the lineup.
HuGo deserves major props for not listening to the fanbase and media pressure to add something shiny this off-season.
Steady as she goes captain! 😉
As for Michkov, can't wait until he and Torts lock horns! 😅

  5. Great Video, as usual, Mike. I like the updates & thank you for them, but, some of them really aren't moves at all, like this one, here. Let me know what you think

  6. The slow way hughes take is the way . Why rush the things right now ? I believe it is better to wait and see what the young can give for one or two years and then adjust. I am no expert this is just my take

  7. I think one thing that a lot of people underestimate is that many of the Canadiens defense have barely played 100 games in the NHL so far. I firmly believe that they will improve a lot as they get closer to the 200 game mark. They have a bunch of guys coming off the books in a couple of years. For now, they ny time for the prospects to develop. Hughes is doing a great job with what he's been given. I also think he has a few more moves coming up 🎉

  8. I would give Hughes a B+ because he is patient and knows he doesn't have to rush into anything. his signings were all A+ and I think the Habs need to give some of the internal options a chance to grab a job in the NHL. 2025 is the year for him to start pushing for the playoffs and beyond in a tough Atlantic division

  9. If I could be sure Armia would continue playing like he did in last year's 2nd half, I'd be OK keeping past the coming season. A 6'4" 220lb, 4th liner playing solid defense, somewhat physical, and scoring 20 to 25 goals a season is hard to come by, especially at $3.5 million. Unfortunately, we've been suckered into re-signing him before when he's playing well. I think they will keep him, hope he plays like last year ,and get another 2nd rounder for him at the deadline.

  10. I think B- is the correct grade, if the draft is excluded. A- with the draft and the internal signings at decent numbers. Habs are likely drafting top 10 twice in the next draft counting the Calgary pick. I think that's the plan and the year after they push for playoffs with Demidov and a more experienced top 6 up front and a great young D group. It will be fun. Patience. It's coming

  11. No moves a good move
    Hopefully
Dvo, Evans, Savard have whole seasons and have decent seasons using there trade value
Armia I beleive is a keeper if he will sign a 3 year deal at like 2.5 a season I'd keep him

  12. For me the player development is the key. Drafting has been suspect for years; I'm hoping that is changing now. We have struck out too many times with guys drafted high but never really panned out.
