  1. I'd love to continue telling you what I like about Canada, but I gotta run to the post office in order to renew my free health care card.

  2. i was full on crying throughout this entire ceremony
well deserved by both Lach and Bouchard. nice that it was able to happen while both are still around to witness it

  3. Of course Bettman looks pissed off, he hates the Habs and doesnt want them doing anything that makes them look good, besides, he's an attention whore who thinks the NHL revolves around HIM……frankly, my guess is he still thinks you "dribble" the puck and that the slot is called the "key"! Bettman, do all us REAL hockey fans a favour, and go BACK to the NBA!

  4. @Jsouthwell2006 – Nope, he was the assistant commissioner of the NBA when the NHL hired him….I wish he'd go back…..or get hit by a bus 😛

  5. i'm a diehard leafs fan, but this celebration was amazing. extreme class by o'byrne to relinquish his jersey like that to emile bouchard.

  6. @DJK290 exactly. he did it a la ray bourque style when he surrended his #7 to phil esposito, and revealed #77.

  7. @princep1984 the memory card burned in the camera… to much epicness and history and talent in one shot lol

  8. Truth be told Montreal would have no single/double digit sweaters left if they were to retire all of the jersey's that deserved to be.

p.s. A picture of Jean Beliveau should be in the dictionary beside the description for both Class and Sportsmanship!

  9. I'm a 23-years old guy from Finland but I still own my habs cap and a habs backpack from the time I went to school as a young kid. I loved the canadiens back then but somewhere along the road I 'lost' that feeling towards the habs… I watched the whole ceremony here on youtube and I really can remember how much habs meant to me as a kid and I'm not even a canadian.. I'm not as fanatical as I was back then, but goddamnit, do I respect the habs. I hope you freeze #11 someday.

  11. I have been a Habs fan since the age of three. I am now 69 years old and will be a Habs fan forever. This ceremony showed the class act that the Habs are.
